    Re: New Xbox 360

That's exactly what I'm struggling with, Pack. Bought my 4gb console last Fri. Figured between flash drives and external HDDs I thought that I'd be fine. Doesn't seem like that's the case though.

You can expand your memory with flash drives but they don't handle stuff like the big replay packages in 2K11. I will test out my external HDD tonight, I guess we need to use a 3rd party utility to create a separate 16-gb partition (don't see why Window's Disk Management utility won't do the trick though).

An Audio CD shouldn't take up that much space on the 360 should it? Especially if all of the tracks are no longer than 1:30 each.

Maybe the 360 can't rip to flash memory. The amount of memory isn't the issue I don't believe, I can't imagine the 360 needing 3+ GB in order to get the 2K11 highlight packages for one game.

No, you don't need a 3rd party utility to create a separate partition. You can just partition the HDD via the 360 with I believe it is the second option, but don't quote me on that. Good luck man, but I would just return it for the 250gb imo.

Tried the external HDD and no dice. I'll try taking it back to GS and swapping it for a 250 GB tomorrow.

Not sure what "excuse" to try besides the fact that the controller is shoddy. Tell them that I didn't know I'd miss so much content in games and I'm unhappy with it? Tell them the flash/external drives didn't work as I anticipated? Don't know if they'll tell me, "sorry, not our problem."

Just ask sympathetic and apologetic. Most Gamestops are pretty cool about that stuff, especially when you want to actually spend MORE money. Worst case scenario, you can always buy the separate HD...

                Re: New Xbox 360

Well after having my slim since launch day. I can say I am starting to get a slight issue. My fans use to be extremely quite. Now I am starting to get a really loud whine, I think it was FF that was asking about this right at the beginning of us getting these new systems. Everyone was telling him u must have a defective system and to return it. Now I am starting to think maybe it is just the hardrive.

On my games installed to the HD, it runs extremely quite. But the games that are not installed to the HD it is like a damn jet taking off in my computer room. Hope it is not on the verge of failure. I had to lock ups back to back at the start up screen last night.

If the slim fails on me I will be pissed. Considering my day 1 launch 20gig 360 lasted 3 years before the first red ring. If this thing fails before 1 year I am going to beat Microsoft with a big red bat. RED STICK OF DEATH. RSOD!!!

Finally took my 4 GB back to GS today and asked them if I could exchange it for a 250 GB. They said they didn't have any in stock and that those consoles are tough to come by. I checked their website from my phone and sure enough you can't even check for store availability for the 250 GB model. The guy there said he had no clue when they'd get another shipment in and that it could be a few weeks (I assume this was BS but who knows, he really had no reason to lie).

So I bought the separate 250 GB drive for the console. Plug-n-play, worked just fine in the 4 GB console. It's $30 more than if I had bought the 250 GB model (and $130 for 250 GB is an insane rip off) but at least 2K11 is working as it should now. The highlight packages are amazing.

Hmm that's a little weird... I just walked into Best Buy on Friday to buy one of these and 2k11 and they had about 10 of them, but they didn't have 2k11, so I had to go to GS for that.

Anyways I love how quiet the new 360 runs, and how much space it has. Now I can install anything I want to the HD and not ever worry about running out of space. I'd never actually seen one before I bought it, but it looks pretty tight... and it matches my PS3 too. I hope I have no problems with it, because it seems like a great system.

He's talking about the end of half, and end of game highlights. They don't work with the 4GB or flash memory. Have to have a HD to see the highlights unfortunately.

And use the Custom Music for each Arena as well.

                              New Xbox 360...

I have a 120GB Xbox 360 elite...and I was wondering, is the new Xbox 360 worth getting? The quietness and the built in wifi are what intrigues me...and the 250GB harddrive too I guess. Is that the only difference, besides the way it looks ofcourse?

I would suggest it if you really want the Wi-Fi and Extra storage. The two Consoles are basically the same, might As well wait until your current Xbox craps out.
