The wifi on mine definitely disconnects when put to sleep, I guess to save battery. It takes mine about 5-10 seconds for it to connect back when woken up.

I'm sad you can't surf the internet on the device while playing a game. That would have been handy for game walkthroughs.

Blzr, Unless you have some giant pockets, I don't see how you would carry around this thing in your pockets comfortably. If you didn't have the bulky hard case, I guess it would fit better. But I also bought a soft case and it is pretty much the same size. Maybe they make some slim cases for the Vita that has no padding, but I wouldn't put a $300 device in one of those.

P.S.: I can't believe I just posted a pic of my leg on OS.
Yah that in no way looks like it belongs in your pocket... very bulky... better off just carrying it, lol.

        More impressions from last night:

        1. I had every intention of slapping Little Deviants on eBay the minute I got the system but it sat around on the couch all day and my 5 year old boy wanted to check out the Vita before bed. So I said what the hell and popped it in. He's too little to enjoy Virtua Tennis or FIFA. After getting adjusted we played this game like whack-a-mole where you either had to hit the back touch panel or the front screen depending on which way the target was facing. He couldn't get the hang of the back panel so I told him to take the front screen and I'd take the back panel so he snuggled up next to me on the couch and we played it together. He was giggling like crazy and after the level was over he told me, "Dad, that was the most fun I've ever had playing a game with you." For those of you that have kids you know you can't put a price on comments like that.

        2. Near - I was surprised when I used this at how many people near my house got a early 3G bundle. Probably 8 or 10 people within 10 km (why the hell do they use km on this app? this is america. what's a kilometer?) I'm not a very social person but it was interesting to see how many people close to my house are PS3 gamers. I have like 2 or 3 people on my PS3 friends list, but some guy named "DevilMix666" (lol) by my house added me as a friend after seeing me on Near. Pretty cool that I can find gamers in my area this way and potentially play PS3 games with them going forward.

I checked a few places last night, and no go. I may very well wait 'till the end of the month. I want one now, but don't want it to be impulse.

That's cool. I figured the Near thing was just a 3g tracking thing, so it works over wifi too? I'll try it out tonight.

Cjones are you trying to find a bundle? If so GameStop is probably your best bet

I'm amazed Kevin that you were able to fit all the cables into the first edition case. Obviously it can be done so I need to try again.

This is the beauty of a nice man at Gamestop actually opening up one of the Starter Kit boxes for you and letting you try out the Pocket Pouch (the smallest of the soft cases for the Vita). Again, with the right pockets, it fits. Jeans pockets normally are more "in front" of your leg, and my different assortments of work pants which I wear kind of go more "to the side."

Plus, as I said, jacket pockets are always prime.

put the square charger in first, then fold the power cord back the way it came and shove it in there. The usb will squeeze in there kind of on top of the power cord. Ear buds were small enough cram in there too but it is tight. definitely won't fit anything else.

You may need to summon your inner tetris skills.

Edit: Kevin affirms. Tetris skills needed indeed.

HSG is just as fun as the PS3 version. It has locks of unlockables (and good trophies ). I was disappointed to see that you can't use the touchscreen to pan around each hole. Still have to use the buttons unless I'm missing something.

Yep, Hotshots is fantastic. I'm probably going to pick up another game today, probably Uncharted.

Almost did the same thing yesterday Paul, but I just couldn't justify spending $50 on a game with no MP.....that would probably sit and collect dust after I beat it.
