Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Sony has settled some false advertisement claims with the FTC, if you were an early Vita adopter you might be entitled to some $.
###
The terms of the settlement prevents Sony from making misleading claims in the future. The company must also refund $25 in cash or credit or a $50 merchandise voucher to anyone who bought a Vita before June 1, 2012. If you’re eligible, Sony will send you a notice by email.

Probably dumb question but how will they know I bought mine before then? I bought mine at launch but I don't think I registered it. And I'm pretty sure I don't hve the reicept any more.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
I haven't read all the terms of the settlement or the claims process since I know I'm not covered. If Sony doesn't know you had a Vita (you never got on PSN with it?) then they probably won't be emailing you.Comment

Ahh yes, I did. That will be my saving grace!Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Still might not be that cut and dry though, I have no idea how they're determining eligible claimants, which is described in the settlement doc as simply people who purchased before 6/1/2012 and who did not return the Vita for a full refund. How would they possibly know the latter?
I expect it'll just be any PSN account that had Vita activity, with how anal the account system is on it (requires a full reset to change PSN accounts still right?) and that will account as registration of an eligible claimant.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
This seems vague to me and could lead to some shady excuse for not being able to "indetify" people like me that bought early but don't have the transaction recorded anywhere.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
When are we expected to get that e-mail? I pre-ordered my Vita (got it February of that year).
And yes, I'm wondering the same thing(s). I've activated my Vita through my account and such, but have no clue if I ever registered it.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

I never registered my vita but sonyentertainmentnetwork.com has it listed under devices. I guess it just does it automatically when you use it. Doesn't really give any date info though. They're at least aware of your device so I think we should be good.Comment

Re: Sony PSVITA Discussion
Don't expect the email until early 2015. Comment period of the case isn't until late December.
