From what I've read and seen in videos, it appears that FE is an excellent starter RPG with quite a bit of depth for the hardcore as well.

That it is. The fact that its a tactics/strategy game the goes along the linear storyline (ie: no wandering the world map where to go next) makes it super accessible, plus the fact that you can turn permadeath off makes it a highly recommended game for players new to the genre.

Just bought Mario Sticker star for $20 spur of the moment kind of thing an before I opened I came home a looked up reviews. Boy I'm glad I didn't open it people say it is horrible for the most part , I think I'm going to take it back for sure

Still wanting to get a XL version but can't seem to pull the trigger. On one hand I want the bigger screen and on the other I don't want 2 systems.
I'd like to keep the Zelda one but even though it's a limited edition it was so mass produced it may not be as valuable later on down the road as people think.

I love keeping permadeath on. That's one of my favorite things about FE.

He means the Zelda 3DS edition of the system. It's black an has gold Zelda logos on it an such.

I went to the XL an never looked back they are better in my opinion except the speakers are worse

I love keeping permadeath on. That's one of my favorite things about FE.

When someone dies, do you restart and do the mission again or carry on without them?

You carry on and you lose the character for the rest of the game, unless you restart obviously.

I have the game. I was asking, do YOU carry on without the unit or do YOU restart?

I play on casual just because I'm not up for constantly needing to restart the map because someone died.

I did pick up Luigi's Mansion today.... and by Animal Crossing release I'll have the XL.
After playing the system again today in the store it's just so much better with the larger screen I have to do it.

Carry on. There's no reason to have permadeath on if you restart the fight if someone you like dies. That's the whole point of permadeath.

I almost lost my pegasus knight last fight, but I got real lucky and could camp her at the back of the fight for the remainder of it.

I forgot to mention I also ordered the Circle Pad Pro for the XL....
and... trying to not order the AC Bundle...
I could just get a new skin for it...hmmm..

The XL may go on sale again before AC comes out. I got one when it was $159, but it's regularly been on sale or a gift card offered since the holidays, except for this month.
