I'm thinking about selling my VITA and getting a 3DS.

I like the VITA, but the lack of games became an issue very fast. A 3DS would be convenient for me in the future and open me up to the Nintendo games like Donkey Kong, Zelda, Mario, and of course the Pokemon games.

Is there any difference in regular and XL versions besides size ?

I would go with the XL. The bigger screens really make a huge difference, it's more comfortable to hold, bigger stock SD card (4GB vs 2GB), and better battery life. You may want to wait a little while longer at this point because there's bound to be some deals over the Holidays.

I too sold my Vita because a lack of games and games that I needed to actually own the system to play them on. I will say going from the amazing Vita hardware to the 3DS is somewhat jarring at first, but ultimately it's about the games and if the 3DS lineup interests you more I would definitely get one.

I've been thinking about making the switch from the Vita to the 3DS. I just want to see how this Vita/ PS4 remote play and additional functionality will work.

But I do miss Pokemon games a lot. Haven't played one since Pokemon Pearl.

I ended up purchasing a 3DS XL today.

I couldn't be happier with the purchase. I think it's going to be my main focus until I ship out next month. I've still got my VITA, but I may try to put it up for sale soon.

I don't want it to sit and be useless. When I say it's brand new.. it's nothing short of brand new and I've had it since the beginning of the year.

Congrats! I'm probably going to trade some 360/PS3 games in and pick one up in a week or two. I have a DSi and have been playing it a lot, but want a 3DS XL to play all the 3DS exclusive games.

My Vita gets a lot of use, mostly because of travel with work. Having Netflix and YouTube on there is nice and like taking MLB The Show on the road.

DSi-Vita and soon a 3DS XL. I'll be set for a couple of years between those handhelds and my current-gen consoles.

I only picked up Pokemon Y until tomorrow. I'm going to visit my cousin's gaming/comic store tomorrow when I go visit some family and see what kind of deals he can hook me up with.

I'm looking to pick up a solid Mario or Luigi game of some sort at least.. possibly one of the Mario Kart games.

Anyone think there are going to be some 3DS deals come Black Friday/Cyber Monday? I'm starting to get very interested in picking one up (at least for a few months) until I get the PS4 next spring. There's a decent number of games on there, or being released soon that I'm actually pretty interested in playing -

Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies
and the really big one, LoZ - Link Between Worlds.

I've bought consoles for way less games than that. In no way have I lost interest in or am selling my Vita, but it's undeniably hit a lull right now. I think it'll be back once the PS4 hits, though.

Another question, since I see that Dual Destinies is going to be a digital-only release in the states:

What's the largest full game download anyone has seen for the 3DS? I doubt PW comes anywhere near that because of what kind of game it is, but I just wanted to know if I'd be okay with the 2 GB storage (It's not likely I'd get an XL with its 4 GB unless it's really cheap on Black Friday).

Any other games I get will almost certainly be hard-copies, so that's really the only one I'll need to worry about downloading.

There will be deals for the 3DS over the holidays, but I have to wonder with the 2DS now if they will be as good as last years, when the XL and OG were regularly on sale at various places for $159 and $129.

I recommend checking out Shin Megami Tensei IV and Fire Emblem Awakening too if you get one bcruise.

Pokemon is the largest I've downloaded at 1.7GB. Ace Attorney 5 is said to be around 580MB.

Been contemplating buying Pokemon (haven't played since Blue). I think I want to finish up Fire Emblem first. I was chewing away at it for a steady pace for the past 2 months, but I've been into it hardcore the last few days. Once I started maxing out levels and using Master Seals along with getting party members to marry each other, I've been into it hardcore. Few of my guys though are going to go without wives since I lost Miriel, Lissa, and Sully along the way. Only guy I've lost is Vaike. I've lost some more important ones that I was attached to, but the game conveniently reset itself.

Best pairings for me have been my hero/Anna (spec'd my guy as a mage, while using a Levin sword for Anna to utilize her high magic skill) and Donnel/Nowi. Nowi is such a beast support character, with Donnel I believe she has a 70% attack chance. Lon'qu and Cordelia have been good for me also together. Seems like they are constantly getting crits.

I eventually want to playthrough FE:A again, or at least check out some of the DLC maps and finish up all the Paralogues. The sheer amount of content and the possibilities with pairings and mixing classes/skills is staggering. Easily one my favorite games this year.
