Just got my 3ds (XL) with the new zelda and starfox. Any other game suggestions? Best VC games? Best ways to use it? I already street passed a few times just walking through the mall, seems kind of cool.Comment

Re: Nintendo 3DS
Finally got a 3DS. I saw Walmart had a deal for a 3DS XL for 150.00. I wanted to get the Zelda: Link Between Worlds bundle at Target for 150.00 but sadly I was too late on that deal. I bought Super Mario 3D Land as well as Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time. Ocarina of Time has always been my favorite Zelda so that seemed like a no-brainer. I ordered Mario Land on a hunch it'd be fun and so far it's been terrific.
Because of those purchases I've got to lay low for a bit. I'm going to try some demos out, but from what I understand I need to try the following games: Fire Emblem, Project X Zone, Luigi's Mansion, Link Between Worlds, Mario Kart 7, Donkey Kong Country 3D, Monster Hunter, New Super Mario Bros 2, Pokemon X/Y, Animal Crossing, and StarFox 3D. I'm also anxiously awaiting the new Smash Brothers, whenever that's supposed to come out.Lux y VeritasComment

Re: Nintendo 3DS
Also, from what I've seen there usually aren't big deals on games. I saw on Reddit people were making a big deal of Pokemon being $5.00 off on Amazon, like that's a big sale or something. A friend of mine who has a 3DS said Nintendo's really trying to push downloading so that the cart prices rarely drop, and when they do it's not by much. Also used games still cost a lot. Is this true?Lux y VeritasComment

I tried the demos for Fire Emblem and Project X Zone last night. I really liked both. My question is, I've very mixed reviews/opinions about Project X Zone and I'm curious as to why?

Yep. DS games are still full-price nearly 10 years after they were first released. It's always been that way with Nintendo.Currently Playing:

Re: Nintendo 3DS
I think part of it has to do with the existence of Fire Emblem: Awakening on the system. I too liked the Project X Zone demo. I was impressed by its flashy and incredibly animated timing-based battles, but I did have concerns about that being able to carry a game that's long (50+ hours) without much depth to its strategy elements. Now that the game has been out awhile, people have echoed that there's not ton of meaningful strategy and battles do become a slog. It seems like something that's best enjoyed in small doses and the game does give you the option to save mid battle. I still kind of want to check it out, if only for the flair and ridiculous fan service.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Nintendo 3DS
Hey guys, I just wanted to know about any good 3DS RPG's in the market.
So far I've heard about Bravely Default and Fire Emblem. I'm also think about RF4 and the new Super Smash Bros installment coming out.
On a side note< what the difference between the Disgaea 2 PSP game and the D2 3DS game? There shall be a day, when Mickael Pietrus shall win 6th man of the year.

Re: Nintendo 3DS
Shin Megami Tensei IV
I haven't played them, but you could look into the following to see if they interest you:
- Mario & Luigi: Dream Team
- Tales of the Abyss
- Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars
- Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance
- Etrian Odyssey IV
- Etrian Odyssey Untold
Despite its short length in terms of an RPG, I've heard really good things about Crimson Shroud. It's from the director and writer of Final Fantasy Tactics and Vagrant Story. It's like $8 on the eShop. Another eShop RPG I've heard good things about is The Denpa Men 2. It's an old-school RPG with a world map.
There's a bunch of good DS RPG's you can play on the 3DS. The only problem is it can be difficult to find some of them and for a reasonable price. The World Ends With You, Chrono Trigger, Radiant Historia, and Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story aren't to difficult to find.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

I've heard a lot about it but I never really considered it thanks!
I have TWEWY, but it's not really what I hoped it would be, in comparison to KH games. I'm not really sure whether I should get Dream Drop Distance in a few months, or save up for KH 2.5There shall be a day, when Mickael Pietrus shall win 6th man of the year.

I think Shin Megami Tensei IV is fantastic, but like I mentioned previously, it's somewhat of an acquired taste and really doesn't put its best foot forward until you get to Tokyo (roughly 8 hours in). Of course slow starts in JRPGs aren't uncommon.
Also forgot to mention there's a demo for Dream Drop Distance on the eShop. I was turned off by the camera control and would need to get the circle pad pro to play it. For a Kingdom Hearts fix, waiting for KH 2.5 is probably the best thing to do.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Nintendo 3DS
I never played any of the EO games either, but there's demos for both of the 3DS ones on the eShop. All I know is there like old-school pure dungeon crawlers.
Two others I forgot to mention that I have played are SMT: Soul Hackers and SMT: Devil Survivor Overclocked.
My thoughts on Soul Hackers:

http://www.operationsports.com/forum...&postcount=650
Despite a few issues, I enjoyed it. It's also a dungeon crawler, but a lot more story focused. It's on sale for $19.99 through the 20th.
I was really liking Devil Survivor Overclocked, but I got it just before the launch of the PS4 and then I got the Wii U not long after, and sadly, I just haven't got back to it since. It's a neat hybrid SRPG/RPG. It has the tactical grid-based and perspective of a strategy RPG, but the battles themselves play out in traditional first-person turn-based fashion. Also it has all the trappings of Shin Megami Tensei like demon recruiting and fusing.Last edited by Flawless; 01-18-2014, 07:20 PM.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment
