I was able to snag a 3ds for $15 recently and picked up Mario 3d land for my 5 year old son. I'm heading to Best Buy after the gym to get Mario Kart 7 and a game for me. I have it narrowed down to one of the 2 Zelda games but can't decide between the two. Keep in mind I have never been a Zelda fan(blasphemy I know) and I have never played Ocarina of time. So should I start there or Link between two Worlds?

Isn't Shadow Wars an RTS, similar to Advance Wars? Still, it's a game that a lot people seem to like and I was able to get a new copy for $9.

Which of the Etrian Odyssey games would you recommend? Never played that series before.

Yes on Shadow Wars. RTS where you have turns moving guys. Over time you level them up and can pick different bonuses and whatnot

I mentioned it before but it bears repeating - this game really feels like a re-branded, old-school type Final Fantasy. So while FF may be going in directions us old-school types don't particularly care as much for, Squenix is rolling out this as its own series (there is a sequel already announced for Japan, so this isn't a one-off). Have to give them some credit for that.

Indeed. Now if only we could get a PS4 version of a game like it.

It would work, plain and simple. I remember the first time I saw (and got to explore) the world map in Ni no Kuni. I was FLOORED at how gorgeous it was. One of the most beautiful things in a game I have seen.

Sold my old 3DS a while back so today I picked up the Zelda ALBW 3DS XL bundle...man this thing is awesome. Looks really nice.

I wasn't sure about the gold at first, but once I saw it in person I thought it looked really sharp.

I beat ALBW yesterday. Such a good Zelda game. Brought back some oldschool and freshened it up a bit. I liked the story alot too. Not too heavy but still had a nice kick at the end. I spent way too much time at the very end of the final boss. I felt like an idiot.

Having to shoot the arrow backwards to hit gannon from the other side. WTF is wrong with me? lol

Now Im onto Fire Emblem. I just can't handle the perma death. Everytime I lose a guy I restart the chapter. Im on the 3rd stage and restarted it twice already. These one hit KOs are not fair!!

Man, you've got me scared with Fire Emblem now. That was next up on my list to play. I've never played the FE series before (have played Advance Wars, though), so I may just go Casual and skip the perma death bit.

Don't let the Pegasus Knights/flying units be in range of any Archers (or Wind Magic.) Knights aren't great against magic users.

Then the Weapon Triangle (basically Rock, Paper, Scissors).

Sword > Axe > Lance > Sword.

Just play Fire Emblem on Casual, guys. There's no reason to subject yourself to constant restarts. Don't let gamer pride get in the way of a fantastic experience.

But then a guy pulls a hammer out of his *** and one shots what was suppose to be a tank character for me. WTF does hammer fall under? I was completely blindsided by that one.

Hammer is an axe that essentially destroys armored characters (knights like Kellam for example)
