    Re: Nintendo 3DS Announced

Well guys ive developed a completely beastmode party after some research in bravely default. I have a mega healer tank, takes one damage on most physical attacks. I have a super attacker who does 9999 damage per command, I have a mage that board wipes or shoots for near 8000 damage per and a supporter who pretty much makes us all untouchable while providing BP control against the enemy and for us (its pretty amazing). The best part is you actually have to strategize as you fight to get these conditions/perks going. Its not as simple as press attack and do 9999 damage.

I love the combinations this game allows you to create. I feel so awesome after struggling through to now being able to hold my own and then some. Awesome game that requires legit thinking near the end.

I will go into detail on how you can get a similar setup if you guys like, or if you just want a taste of what goodies are to expect down the line. Lord knows I needed some help structuring my team.

I didn't think I would want to play a old school turn based rpg but wow Bravely Default is really fun. Finally made it to chapter 1 and now i need to do some grinding for some money to get some more spells and weapons. Stuff sure has gotten exspensive.

Persona Q coming to NA this Fall:

Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth (Fall 2014) -- You got Persona in my Etrian! You got Etrian in my Persona! Well, you're right on both counts. Persona Q is a cross-over for the Nintendo 3DS™ system that brings Persona 3 and 4 characters to the gameplay style of Etrian Odyssey. It also marks the first time the Persona franchise will be available on a Nintendo system.

Characters from Persona 3 and 4 have been given a complete visual overhaul to match the Etrian style and plunged into an alternate world resembling Yasogami High School. Legend has it that listening to the end of the bell chimes of Yasogami High's clock tower causes people to die, and this time the bell tolls for the Investigation Team and the SEES. Trapped in an other-world filled with Shadows, the protagonists from Persona 3 and Persona 4 each have different events to follow, allowing the player to choose and experience two different plotlines. As both groups seek a way out of the labyrinth, they will run in to two new characters, Rei and Zen, who may hold the secret to this new mystery.

Just spent the last 30 minutes getting destroyed by the Minotaur in SMT IV. Looks like I need to recruit a few more demons to my party (have a party of 4 right now and I'm at level 12. Have not fused any demons because the options were pretty weak).

I think I was level 14 when I beat Minotaur. Sukukaja and Rakukaja helps a lot in this fight. A party that can cast Bufu to get more press-turns and spam those buffs to stack them.

Any suggestions on where to get those abilities? I did fuse demons on my other save file and I believe the Angel (nice outfit) picked up the extra defense ability. I guess I could stay with that party and just grind out battles until I get her to a higher level, and also try and recruit a couple more demons.

Level 9 demon Harpy has Sukukaja. Fuse Fairy - Napaea (1st Stratum) + Gryphon (2nd Stratum)

Level 11 demon Fortuna has Sukukaja. Requires Fairy - Napaea + Jirae - Dwarf (3rd Stratum) + Fallen - Melchom (4th Stratum).

Sukukaja is really the more important buff of the two for this fight. If you can stack it to +3 or +4, Minotaur should miss at least one turn. Rakukaja is still useful to counteract the defense debuff of War Cry. Having a demon with Media is also very useful. I used Leanan Sidhe (Pele + Melchom).

Thanks, Flawless. I'll do some grinding and see what I come up with. I was going along well, and then that boss fight really exposed my lack of experience with RPG's.

Yeah, alternatively if you don't mind grinding to level 15 you can fuse Jack Frost. No strategy required, Jack Frost will handle it.

Minotaur and the next boss are two of the toughest. Outside of a few more boss fights and some of those being dependent on alignment path, I found the game got much easier. It's no SMT III: Nocturne in terms of difficulty.

Man, that'd take me a while to get to Level 15. You get that ability automatically with that level?

Sorry for the silly questions. Just trying to find my way through this game, which I've really enjoyed so far.

No, it's just Jack Frost has Bufula (medium ice damage) and that would destroy Minotaur.

Just get Sukukaja from fusing either Harpy or Fortuna, have at least more than one to cast Bufu (the more the easier it will be), and one that can cast Media.

By the skin of my teeth, I made it through the battle! Having a party member with Bufu was huge. I only had one with it, but had two with extra defense, so that helped keep the Minotaur's big attacks at bay. What a tough battle!

Glad I had to backtrack a bit because I'm getting a better feel for recruiting demons and fusing them.

                            Keiji Inafune's new 3DS side-scroller

At BitSummit today, Inti Creates and Keiji Inafune announced a brand new side-scrolling adventure called Azure Striker: Gunvolt. It's coming this summer to the 3DS via Nintendo's eShop.

Listen up, Mega Man fans: Keiji Inafune is the Executive Producer, and Yoshihisa Tsuda (Mega Man X2, Mega Man 7, 9, 10, and more) is the Game Director. Hatakeyama (Mega Man 9)is on art, while Takuya Aizu (several Mega Man games, as well as Mighty No. 9) acts as Producer. Finally, Ippo Yamada is over music and sound effects.
Gunvolt's gameplay has some solid Mega Man roots, as you might imagine from the development team lineup. There's dashing and jumping and... well, dash jumping. Jump shots were the name of the game in the stages I played. There's everything you'd hope for in this kind of game: wall jumping, crazy platforming, and plenty of ultra-challenging, *******-ish enemy placement. The level designs in the two demo stages I tried had me grinning -- brilliant layouts around every corner Any Mega Man fan would be pleased.

I really enjoyed a forest stage where I had to use lightning charges to force tree branch obstacles away to clear the way for platforming. Swarms of insects would create a cloud that wiped across the screen, forcing Gunvolt to use his lightning shield as a defense. The end of the stage brought me to a multi-tiered flower boss battle where I had to dodge slow floating pollen orbs while wall jumping to make sure I could hit it enough times to have it opening up. Once open, I mashed a touchscreen button to use a saved special attack, sending a barrage of chains across the screen to kill it off. Even the producer was impressed with my battle!
Inti Creates told Destructoid that only three stages are done so far, and that they're currently working with Nintendo to get the game finished quickly for both Japan and North America. Our friends in Europe might have a bit longer of a wait, though.
