I don't think Yoshi's New Island looks very good. Like the DS game, it was outsourced. They somehow managed to both make it look and sound worse than the SNES game.

Not that I care much for reviews, but EDGE gave it a 4.

Gamasutra: Who says the JRPG is dead? Bravely Default debuts with 200k sales

Square Enix's newest IP, Bravely Default, appears to be a hit with Western fans: The game, which debuted on February 7, shifted over 200,000 units to players in its first three weeks on sale -- that's when you count both physical and digital copies, says Nintendo, which published the title in North America.

The game outperformed the success of last year's surprise hit Fire Emblem Awakening by 10 percent, says Nintendo.

Bravely Default slid in at number 10 in this month's NPD sales chart; Square Enix's other RPG launch, Lightning Returns hit at number 8, though that was across two platforms: Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. According to Nintendo, if you break down sales by individual platforms, Bravely Default on 3DS was the second-best selling SKU of the month overall.

Apparently, Bravely Default did outsell Lightning Returns (physical + digital).

This is kind of sad to hear...but some other reviews I was able to find earlier today kind of say the same thing. I decided to instead go with Donkey Kong Country Returns, and it's been great so far.

I am really anticipating Mario Golf. I've already got it set for release-date delivery from Amazon.

Yeah, Mario Golf looks good. Kirby Triple Deluxe too, but it's coming out the same day.

Bravely Default is incredible, A Link Between Worlds is getting a ton of play time, and I cannot wait for Mario Golf...so hyped for it.

I'm not that far into Fire Emblem right now but the scenes with the full voice acting are awesome. The rest of them, when they don't have feet? Not so much, but I'm still loving this game. Idk if I think it is on the level as the GBA ones, but it's damn good.

Still plugging away in SMT IV. Just got by Medusa. That was a tough battle, but I managed to slop by with Flynn clinging to his final few HP. Restored the rest of the party afterwards. Starting to get the hang of fusing demons, although I still struggle to recruit them. I seem to always say something to make them mad, lol.

                  Some demon recruiting tips:
                  • Rarely give Macca. Stick to giving life stones.
                  • Try using Cheat (often doesn't work more than once though). If you get the option to End Talk, then do it, because there's a good chance the demon will join you.
                  • Don't let things go on for to long and don't be afraid to say NO. Some demons will join you for not being a pushover.
                  • Not always, but usually what is successful for a certain type of demon will be successful for other demons of that type.
                  • Defeat the allies of the demon you wish to recruit to minimize the damage if you fail and just try again. Also, this will sometimes terrorize the remaining demon into bribing for its life and you can get it to join you.
                  • While I would say the slot and MP recovery apps are the best, the Scout Apps are worth getting too. Get Scout+ (purchase Scout Gift and Scout Bonus to unlock) that way the demons you recruit will help you recruit other demons.

These tips have been very helpful. I'm in Tokyo now (in the game) and have put together a pretty solid party, with a couple of demons in reserve. Still letting the CPU handle the pairing of demons for the fusions, and it seems to be working out well. I tend to try and have at least one party member that can either boost the group's defense and/or raise HP.

We will see what I run into next. Hopefully I'll be strong enough party-wise to handle it.

This is an interesting game. Not real heavy on story, but that's OK.

5 character party battles you say?

                            <object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/-x2NipXN1SU?hl=en_US&amp;version=3"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/-x2NipXN1SU?hl=en_US&amp;version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

Also, moving around looks a lot like Persona 1 (probably 2 also, though I never played it). The whole first-person dungeon crawling thing.

After hearing so many good things about fire emblem I decided to download the demo. Loved it, I know there different games but it reminded me a lot of playing Ogre Battle 64 when I was a kid. How big is the download version of fire emblem? I'm debating getting physical or digital since I could more easily have multiple games in/on my 3ds at once instead of just the cartridge.

The 3DS version of Super Smash bros. is coming this summer, features exclusive Smash Run mode.

                                IGN

Smash Run pits four players against each other in a sprawling dungeon full of randomized enemies, including Goombas, Shy Guys, and other notable Nintendo villains, in a battle to collect stat-boosting power-ups as quickly as possible. Treasure chests and enemies can improve your speed, jump, strength, defense, special move effectiveness, and more, which comes into play after the Smash Run timer runs out.

After five minutes of exploration, 2-4 players, local or online, go head-to-head in a standard Smash Battle using their newly acquired stats. Those who’ve collected more bonuses improve their chances of winning. Additionally, you can equip items ahead of each Smash Run battle to gain an edge.
