Re: Xbox live hackings
My brothers account was hacked over the summer and mine was hacked the 23rd of last month. They got away with 11k worth of points on my account and MS said they didn't let the transactions go through, but they did, so now we're waiting on the bank and MS's investigation.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Check the buy.com account on Ebay usually around the 20th - 25th of each month they sell 4000 points for $38. I bought three last time and used them throughout the year.Comment

Re: Xbox live hackings
Mine got hacked 3 weeks ago and the hacker bought 1600 gamer points, transferred it to their account, and then purchased the $100 Gold Family Subscription. I called Customer service and they suspended my account and said it would take up to 22-25 business days to investigate. I talked to my bank and they credited me the full 124.18 until the issue got resolved. The other night I got an email from xbox live saying they finished the investigation and deemed there to be fraudulent activity, will refund my 124.18, and gave me 3 months of Xbox Live free. On top of that, they haven't cancelled the $100 (year long) Gold Family account that the hacker purchased haha. I can't get over that. I dunno if they they forgot to cancel it, didn't get around to it yet, or just being extremely extra nice hahaha.

Re: Xbox live hackings
I found a pretty decent deal on ebay. Messenger kit w/ new headset, 12 month XBL, 400 MS pts for $51.00. Not bad considering I was going to pay $49 at buy.com or newegg.com for just the 12 month code.
I'll be on the look out for the cheap points too, thx.Favorite Sports Teams

Re: Xbox live hackings
I saw a post on another forum alleging that Microsoft has suffered some kind of huge breach the size of Sony's and that they've been working to cover it up for months.
If you actually think through what that would actually mean, there's simply no way to cover it up. This thread would already exist, and it would be a hundred pages long.
Accounts are compromised various ways all the time, not saying something bigger didn't happen, but there would be a lot more smoke for a fire that big, I simply am not seeing it.Comment

Re: Xbox live hackings
I don't really get this - if a person steals points and transfers them to an account they plan on using, can't MS just track that profile when it logs and and call the authorities or something? Seems like it would be extremely easy to catch people involved in this if they cared at all.Comment

Got hacked a couple of months ago. Someone tried to buy 80 bucks worth of MS points. Called MS and got my card removed, bank said it was a fraudulent purchase, and i got my money back. Never putting the card on the account again.GT:jb12780

Re: Xbox live hackings
Got hacked on the 17th I had 3600 points and they used 3200 to get the Sims 3. Luckily the CC I had on file had expired. Don't they have to register their 360 to my account to download the game? That looks like a trail right there.
Now I have to wait a month for them to check it out and they said I get a temp ID, that I haven't recieved yet, to use. I have a ton of Rockband Songs that I will be unable to play so that pretty much stinks. And of course Modern Warfare 3 is coming out so no mulit-progress there.XBL: Countach

Re: Xbox live hackings
I don't think they're transfering points. They'd take your account then download the game to their 360 with the points they stole on your account. Then because it's on the same hard drive now any other account on the hard drive can use it.Comment

Re: Xbox live hackings
Hacked last night. Got an email this morning stating that the offenders bought 6000 worth of MS points last night and I now have a Premium Gold Pack and a Premium Gold Jumbo in my purchase history. Waiting until 9am to call MS.
Reading other reports, seems like I'll be without access to my XBL account for about a month. Thanks, hackers.Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

Re: Xbox live hackings
My brothers account got hacked a few weeks ago and my other brother did some digging and it's something to do with EA. My brothers friends noticed that the last game played was Fifa 12 and he doesn't even have that game.
Several posts on an Xbox forum point to the same problem. "Account somehow moved to another console on 2nd October, Fifa 12 achievements and 7200 points purchased and spent immediately off my linked card," read a post Oct. 4 on the forum.UPDATE: Microsoft has told Eurogamer that it's aware of a few incidents of "unauthorised access" and is working with th…
