This is sad. I am mad I have to go through so much to remove a credit card. I called them already. Thanks man. My card was charged last April I am not understanding why the card is still needed to be associated with my current XBL Tenure.

So they had to cancel my current XBL Gold. And send me a redeemable code to sign back up. Stupid as hell.

One thing that infuriated me more, was how they handled credit cards and removing them. And back when Live first hit, you were NOT able to manually remove it yourself. It was so annoying that me and my fiance at the time, trying to get it removed from some dude in India, we just got a new credit card issued and cancelled that one.

I just got hacked for 10,000 pts last night. Xbox told me 25 days and locking my account until they finish the investigation. Good thing I have another xbox and account in the bedroom.

Good luck on the 25 days. Mine was hacked on 8/22 and I'm sill waiting to have my investigation cleared up!!! Hope it works out better than my situation.

Thankfully I haven't been hit yet, but I can't stress enough about having more than one password for different sites. Most of these, as when EA/Bioware got hit, are people testing those logins and hoping someone uses the same info for all.

I'm not saying that's what happened to many OS posters here, but just a heads up. Speedy resolution to all in this thread.

Well good thing is I have more than 1 account and I am really busy at work. So I dont have the time to play right now. If it was a time that I really wanted to play I would be pissed. Good thing is I caught it as soon as it happen. Bad thing is I wasn't getting out of bed to call Xbox at 3 in the morning.

Their credit card department isn't very good. I had trouble getting one on,I wanted to buy Deathsmiles 2 and they had a gold for $1 thing. Had to call like 3 times,still got nothing done and they said to try again then call back again if it still didn't work. It didn't then I called back,they said they'd escalate it and those people would call in 3 days. That was in July,they haven't called.

exactly what i did, cancelled my cc and got a new one and left the cancelled one on the xbox, when my sub comes up I will just buy a card from target or whatever.

You guys do you know you can simply go onto the website(xbox.com) and remove the credit card from your account, right?

And I do realize you were talking about when XBL was first around, but still just putting this out there.

I just discovered that my account was also hacked sometime between last Friday (the 28th) and now. I spent this past weekend moving and hadn't hooked my Xbox back up until today and now I cannot sign in to live. I see that someone has played Fifa on my gamertag and I have never owned a single Fifa game in my life.

When I try to sign in, I get the following error message:

Your Xbox LIVE membership information isn't valid. Please use a profile that contains a valid membership or recover your profile from Xbox LIVE.

Then, when I try to recover my gamertag it says that I have an invalid e-mail/password. What the ****!?

The funny thing is, I have never added a credit card to my account before and have ALWAYS used the prepaid cards for security. There were probably about 3000 or so MS points in my account when it got hacked but how the hell would anyone other than me even know that? Seriously, this pisses me off and now I have no idea what to do.

Any advice on what to do? I really don't want to start a new profile and lose all of my achievements, friends list, etc. etc.

Well, I was able to recover my gamertag after fooling around with my Windows Live ID. Luckily, I managed to remember the answers my security questions. I am now able to play on XBL again but of course the ****ing piece of **** who hacked my account drained all of the MS points I had in there. I guess I'll just chalk it up as a $40 loss since I didn't have a credit card attached to my account and don't want to be unable to acces my account for 25 days.

No guys I hope everything goes alright for you guys. Worse feeling in the world when your account gets hacked with personal info on it like credit cards and such.
