    Re: Xbox 720

I'll be dropping $ as soon as you can pre-order it. Slowly removing old games and within a month I should be down to just WiiU, PC and 360.
When we get close I'll sell my 360.

I'm hoping to hear something amazing to say the least, my 360 gets very little time from me. My son plays it a lot. If didn't have it I wouldn't miss it. I play the ps3 more and the vita a lot...if only owned the vita I would be still good. From some articles I gave read the Wii U isn't selling like they thought it would either, there drought wasn't even remotely anything big, the Wii u are on shelves every here where I live

Not too bad for the WiiU
While not the whole craze as the Wii the Wii U is still selling decently according to some...Just wasn't the so called "shortage" as the Wii had.

The telling point will be come fall this year I assume.

As far as the future machine in my house..
So this is supposed to be the specs?

8-core CPU, a customized AMD 8800 series GPU, and pack 8 GB of RAM –
Windows 8 as an operating system and come with a 640 GB hard disk drive

          Re: Xbox 720

With those rumored specs, maybe they should call it Xbox 1440.

Spec are important, but not the entire battle. Some ask if the PS4 can compete with that. What they now have to compete with is branding. Not to long ago, Playstation was THE name in videogame consoles. Look at what the Wii did for this generation and it was a huge success. Sony has lost a bunch of ground, while Microsoft has been consistent and made big gains.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

Damn you, I was just coming in here to post that.

It looks rough but I can see it being really cool once developers have time to put some effort into it. The snow effect looked amazing.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I thought I read somewhere a while back about Sony not going into the red with there next console because of the gigantic whole the PS3 created along with some of there other products they have not selling so well.

How is it supposed to be putting images behind the TV..?
Unless the new Kinect will have a 360 cam/projector...Pretty cool!

What is pushing this? Is it the new Samsung TV that MSFT has partnered up with Samsung to incorporate this tech or tech for new Xbox?

Don't think it would really with well built in, I know I wouldn't want my Xbox mounted above my TV. Won't brr surprised if it's part of the base model though.

This playing COD..things blowing up around you..or a sports game with an arena full of fans around you. Crazy! As far as specs...I don't understand or know much about that but seems like many of you do and you all seem pleased so thats good enough for me. Can't wait

It's not like that has to be super high fidelity either since really it's being used for peripheral vision for the most part. Seems you'd need a small projector mounted in the right place behind you, use that grid to calibrate it's exact orientation and you're off to the races. Neat.

Edit: MS Research site for the project: http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/...ts/illumiroom/

The video that was already posted is an actual proof of concept and was recorded live, rather than produced (like some of those early Kinect videos)
