    Re: Xbox 720

Titles like Madden , NBA etc will not be console exclusive from EA.

    That's a far -fetched assumption.

    Maybe other titles could though

I just wish microsoft would unveil some news so all of these outlets would have something to discuss instead of making up what a friend or some industry back talk is about.

Everything doesn't take internet reaction to know if its a dumb idea or not and I'm sure they already know that.

Traded in 33 360 games just 30 min ago. I got $393 with the double trade in bonus and my powerup card. I now have $567 sitting on my powerup card just waiting for the system to drop. Its paid for and waiting

EA said in their fiscal call yesterday that they are making ps4 games, any deal with Microsoft is probably just dlc and/or some time exclusive stuff.

I think its pretty obvious that EA just signed a deal they will unveil their next generation games at the Microsoft 720 unveiling. Which is why we will see Battlefield 4 at the 720 unveiling. Plus makes sense why no sports games were shown at the PS4 unveiling.

And that lines up pretty much perfectly with EA saying that we would see more on BF4 in around 90 days on the 31 of January at 85 days. Though I do hope that we aren't left talking about multiplatform games again mostly like I was after Sony's conference (Watch Dogs).

EA reveals 'single identity' system for a cross-platform gaming experience

The idea of a single, cross-platform identity sounds great in theory, but VentureBeat's story doesn't say much about what the system will look like to users. It's unclear, for example, whether players will have to create some kind of EA login that rides on top of other services, such as Xbox Live or iOS GameCenter. Also, the story doesn't get into details on how cross-platform gaming would actually work. Would Microsoft or Sony approve of letting gamers pick up where they left off on a PC? Is their approval even necessary?

Could this have something to do with the deal?

Where this confuses me is they make it sound like if I buy Madden 14 on Xbox 720 that I can play it on my PC too. If that is the case why not just sell it for the PC and I buy it for that. You don't even need to sell physical copies, just digital downloads through origin. The problem is how do you design a game that operates for all the different hardware specs? PC, Hand held, console, etc. This just confuses more than anything.

They already do a lot of that. When you sign into EA on Madden you use the same information to sign in online. They're just unifying their services and creating some PR from it. Using achievements and other data points it would be pretty straightforward to continue some games from different points cross-platform if they weren't overtly sharing information in some form.

Maybe it has to do with being able to play EA titles on Microsoft's tablet and smartphones from a cloud as well as on your console? Whatever it is, EA will be also selling their games to Sony too.

Most places are spectualing that the "content exclusive stuff" for xbox is downloadble content.... EA would be idiotic to put no games out on the PS4 for a few reasons (A, they will lose a **** ton of money by doing that) and B: for games like NHL/golf/NFL, the respective leagues would throw a fit (kind of like how MLB "forced" 2k to make a MLB game this year....) NFL/NHL etc would force EA to make it for PS4

                          Re: Xbox 720

EA and EA Sports definitely hold some weight, and being able to tout their lineup of games in some exclusive fashion will be a positive for the Xbox. A game like EA's UFC would generate some definite hype. I remember when they revealed Fight Night and everyone's jaw dropped at the visuals. From there, the 360 got a solid boost.

Microsoft has the potential to come out a little stronger than the PS4. With the PS4, the only thing that really made me feel was "next-gen" was what they are doing with streaming live gameplay so others can watch. There's the obvious graphics boost, but then I saw Killzone and all this explosive chaos and a plant just sits there...immovable? That's something I really want to see change this gen. I really want to see the environments more dynamic. I'd settle for this gen's graphics with a game where everything around you responds properly to physics etc. I suppose we'll see that from folks like DICE.

But EA not showing up at Sony's reveal and then coming out big at MS's could be a big boost for the Xbox. I wonder if this is where we'll first see UFC.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

It probably does not matter what hardware platform the game is on. They probably use some kind of middleware that converts the data from the different systems to communicate at a layer independent from the hardware for online play.

I am going with the digital games out a few days early camp as well for EA.

                              Not entirely MSFT exclusive.

I really don't care, because I really don't like EA. Ever since the bought up the NFL license and screwed up my favorite video game series of all time (Madden) to the point where I can even play it anymore going on 4 years now, and now they are trying to nickle and dime you for every thing! I don't see this being a good thing for Xbox 720 owners, at least I don't think its going to be as good as it's being hyped. Because the deal is with EA, which means right away they are excluding people who don't play EA games, so this deal does not benefit all Xbox 720 owners. I can live without anything EA makes.
