    Re: Xbox 720

This system will play 95% of the same games as PS4.

They'll nail the games. How is this even a question? Put a disc in the system, it'll load the game and it'll play. Whether or not you put your cable through it doesn't impact that.

Ignore the rest (though systems have been adding extras forever, not sure why this is such a shot to people).

Game devs have no problem making kinect features optional. Kinect won't be a problem. Every game isn't going to be tracking your head. Devs learned that sometimes people want to sit down while playing.

You won't be hearing that much about games now though because it's still early. MS hasn't even announced a system yet, game devs don't want to unload info too early.

Can any of the people saying "but it's about the gaming system" stuff explain why they think it won't be good at playing games? Can't you ignore all the rest of the stuff that doesn't apply (like you've done for prior console generations?). I'm just a little confused as to how these aren't pleasing the "hardcore" gamer when they'll give you everything you have now and more.

I'm gonna disagree there. Not trying to change anyone's mind, I just think Kinect is the dumbest idea (right along with the PSEye) for video games. Motion tracking with a controller like the Wii is one thing (and even there, there's only one game worth playing I can think of off the top of my head) but all the kinect will do is add in gimmicks that add nothing to the gameplay/experience.

I'd love for them to prove me wrong, if they do I may pick up an XBox. Until then the accessories like the kinect remain one of the most worthless inventions/addons to a system to me. I don't need to use my hands and arms, I can do everything I have ever needed to with a controller in those same hands.

Plus, even then only XBox exclusives will use it. Any multiplatform game won't have support (other than silly gimmicks like voice commands) built in. The PS4 only has the motion sensor for the controller built in I think.

Really? That is how you are going to take what I said?

Bottom line, I don't like being told I'm whining when I doing nothing of the sorts. Do I like the direction MS is going with the 720 from what we have heard NO and I will be the first to say that. But whining come on!

The thing is, the kinect isn't just about moving your body around. It can be used for head tracking, voice stuff, or used in conjunction with a controller. I think that the stuff developers have used the kinect for is beyond dumb but after seeing all the stuff that everyone else has been able to do with it, there's no way that I can't get excited about the potential of what it can be used for when developers can justify spending time working on putting it into games.

Why would I want head tracking? If I turn my head I lose sight of some of the screen. This isn't VR we are talking about here, just tilt a joystick and you turn. I see no need for it. If I had a screen that wrapped 180, then we'd be taking. Its just pointless at this point in time to me.

The tech intrigues me, the application of that right now bores me. I don't need voice control, I'm playing a game. I don't need head tracking, I'm playing a game. You get the picture.

I'll call BS on that all day. Two people have been steady offenders of getting on people when they don't agree with what has come out the MS camp. You and mestevo, so pardon if the way yall have posted has come off a tad "biased".

I've "gotten on" people because we've had these same complaints over and over again yet it's not brought up when it is an industry standard. I cant wait til M$ says something so people can continue to post their opinions.

Lets get this straight there is no whining going on in here, people have opinons in a discussion thread... lets respect the differences and move on.

If not, some things in this thread is going to have to change

                              So lets see, I said

                              1) I won't buy the system if it has to require a internet connection.
                              2) I won't buy if the kinect is required to be connected
                              3) I don't wanna hear about TV running through my xbox.

Now because I stated these things, yall have this "whining" stance on that approach. That is not just "discussing" a topic, which I'm completely fine with that. I have not called you a "xbox fanboy" either though I think you have come off that way, which would be equal to you saying we are whining. Because that is not conducive to a positive discussion.

So I'll easily get back on topic and discuss the main topic, but realize HOW you make comments are the reason I took offense to it.

Its over, lets drop it and move on.
