I hope to god, so people in here have been talking about the Xboxone's shot at consumer rights issues. This thing is built straight out of Greed101, Alot of the features are limiting what can and cannot be done with a product you buy and I can not think of a single reason anyone who cares about your purchasing power would own one of these things. Now before I get called a fanboy, I am more than certain that we need to hear what sony plans are with the PS4, cause if it is the same I can safely say screw all of them (and no I do not use steam either). Seriously think of these things , even if it does not effect you it does effect those of us who care and future generations as well.

More details on this agreement with MS ( and Sony i bet) and select retailers. All starting to be clear now and I get it and hope the game developers will truly get their share, but how much do we lose in the end when all is said and done. I never buy used, but I sell back all the time for new purchases.Comment

Re: Xbox One
I think jmood, ubernoob, and I are in the same place. Ubernoob is less positive on MS (and understandably so) whereas jmood and I are more up on the items they announced.
We all just need more info to really go further. MS has gone over way more than Sony has, need to know more about the PS4 as well as games on both before I commit.
The amount of people stating that they're purchasing a Playstation when Playstation hasn't been exactly upfront with their information is unbelievable. People are just reading rumors and speculating causing all of this drama. It would be nice if we all just waited until we received official press releases from both in-house offices of Microsoft and Playstation to determine what we'll actually be dealing with in terms of features for these next-gen consoles. I know some of the higher ups at Microsoft have made a few statements here and there, but I would take their word with a grain of salt. They have a lot on their plate I'm sure and they might not know all of the facts when it comes to always on or how used games are handled.
When it comes down to the games, the games are going to be the same no matter which system you purchase them for. Madden will be Madden and CoD will be CoD. From a business perspective I also can't see Microsoft and Playstation handling used games very differently. If Microsoft has a new plan for how to handle used games I would expect Sony to do the same. Personally I think the developers are the ones putting pressure on Microsoft and Sony to make changes. They're the ones really missing out on lost revenue when consumers purchase used games rather then new ones.
Either way I'm excited to see what Microsoft and Sony have in store for us at E3. Many of our questions will be answered and until then I doubt we get any major developments. Both systems will sell, these two companies are marketing superpowers. There is no way they "fail."Comment

Re: Xbox One
I'm with you on this one man. The way I see it is Microsoft is just trying to bring something new to the table. They have a product and they're trying to expand upon it. I think we've come to the point where the graphic upgrades aren't going to be that noticeable. You don't have that giant leap in graphics that would sell a system on its own. Therefore Microsoft has had to come up with a new feature to sell. Thats the Kinect. Now many of you are all up in arms about having a Kinect in your living room, but give it eight years and motion sensing technology just might be a major part of your day to day life.

I agree with you on this...Plus all these disputes are on areas where there could be technicalities. Xbox One is technically not always on with internet, just requires some checkins...I'm not saying that's right or not, but Sony could be pulling these same type of technicalities. It's what companies do.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Xbox One
That's his personal opinion. Just because he doesn't want to use the device for his game doesn't make it a "Gimmick" If the device was such a gimmick, 25 million people wouldn't have purchased it. The best selling 360 game of all time is a Kinect Game.
Just because people choose not to use, or want to use it doesn't mean it's a gimmick.
There's a market for the device in the 360 community already. The Kinect 2.0 is taking that tech to the next level, so who's to say developer's won't be willing to take advantage of it. And if developers choose not to they don't have toComment

Re: Xbox One
I think that devs get money through publishers, so they'd have to get a cut of that pie. No matter what I'd rather that used game profits go to people responsible for the game (pubs or devs) vs. Gamestop.

Re: Xbox One
Just saying that MS technically is internet required, but not "always on". All your link said is that PS4 is not always on. Companies use technicalities all the time.
Just wanted to make that point. It'll all come out in the end, but you know that Sony will fall in line with used games stuff. Why would they want to piss off developers/publishers?
I'll wait to hear more details, I'm just not sold that PS4 is the dream machine because they haven't addressed a majority of issues yet.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Xbox One
You really think Gamestop is going to eat the used game fees if they in fact are charged through retailers? That's like the government increasing taxes on gas and you expecting gas prices to remain the same. Gamestop will give you less for your games and charge more for used games. It doesn't matter where Microsoft charges it, it's still coming from your pocket.Comment

I dunno, it's not my concern to worry about GameStop or Gamefly's business models. I just know that it's highway robbery with how much margin Gamestop has on lots of these used games....
Either way, a used game will be cheaper than a new game, and will have to be cheaper enough to make people want to buy them. I'm sure the market will adapt and adjust.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Guys on neogaf are also complaining about having batteries in the controllers, needing an HDTV, Microsoft's servers hurting the environment, saying that Microsoft spending money building studios is a sign that they're desperate, etc. Neogaf isn't the place to go for measured analysis, especially right after all this stuff has come out. Most of the people in the thread you're talking about font even know what Azure is and think that Gaikai is doing the same thing that Microsoft has been doing.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Xbox One
Maybe it's just time for me to give up on console video games. All these things required by pubs/devs/gaming corporations to limit and force the consumer is really just going to wear on me.
It's going the be hard to skip the yearly Madden/NBA2K/FIFA/The Show but I'll deal with it.
Fortunately I built a nice backlog of games I need to beat on the 360/Wii."Maybe I can't win. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that."Comment
