All these devices make other devices redundant.

I have a Smart TV in my bedroom (the living room one is as well, but it's not wifi so we dont have it as a smart tv.)

It's an LG, with Hulu, Netflix and MLBTV (just the apps I use, there are a ton more) and a wand controller (think the Wiimote basically.)

I have no need for my XBox or PS3 to do these things, that quite honestly, my tv does just as well if not better.

I get the point of Microsoft doing what they are, but my question is more on the entertainment industry as a whole where everyone is trying to do the same things, something has to give in one of the industries.

I get what you're saying, but my personal experience is that the Smart TV's/DVD's aren't doing it "just as well if not better"...I find that wifi connectivity isn't as solid as it is on a more expensive device, and the apps developed by these companies aren't as nice/intuitive to use (Netflix on PS3 or 360 is way nicer than on my Sony Blu-Ray player).

I'm not buying a console for the bedroom, but I may move a older one in there to improve our experiences.

I highly doubt XBL will drop in price because it's still the subscription for XBone.

I could definitely seeing them announcing a "limited time" only Xbox Live pricing running through the end of the year to try to get everyone signed up now and when the Xbone is announced.

Say a $20 off per year deal that runs through Dec. 31st and after that it goes back to the regular price.

Yeah,

my as good as/if not better comment was all on my personal experience with our Smart TV in our bedroom. The magic wand remote is alright, but makes flipping through lists and everything quite easy though sometimes I wish it had a regular remote.

YMMV as always.

I can't wait until E3, we should get a lot of info/answers then...

It's been good going back and forth with you though...I love a good discussion with valid points. Opens my eyes to things I haven't thought about on both sides.

All about price point and preorder deals/ease...

Yeah the games are somewhat of a question but there's no doubt in my mind they'll deliver on both consoles...

For me it's about the cost...

I'm hoping that we'll get sales similar to Steam if MS and publishers get a cut of used game sales....It'd be great if consoles had better sales. I just got Tomb Raider for 14 bucks on PC, it's still over 30 on console.

Tell me about it. The name honestly doesn't matter to me. If my friends are over I'm going to ask them if they want to play Xbox, regardless of what its actually called. The name portrays exactly what Microsoft is trying to develop. An all in one console for your entertainment needs.

I think it'll be like Wii or iPad, I remember when both came out I hated them. I laughed when I heard Wii and when I heard iPad I kept thinking maxi-pad. So hopefully, in time, we will all come to accept and love the Xbone moniker but I agree right now it's pretty weird man..

They really don't need to do that, though, XBL subscriptions go on sale all of the time. I haven't paid more than $35 for a year subscription for years.

Can't post it because I'm on my phone, but apparently remote play (letting your friends play a part for you like on the PS4) is enabled through Skype on the XBO.
