Hold up, Hold up! So can't I buy a disk, bring it to my home which has no internet, put it in my X1, and play it offline?

Re: Xbox One
Apologies in advance if this has already been posted in this thread, but I came across an excellent article commenting on Microsoft's strategy. There's no new information, but the writer makes some great points--very well written.

Re: Xbox One
Figured something was up when EA announced last week I believe that do to "customer" feedback they were doing away with the Season Pass. So I would assume that this used game thing would be done on PS4 also? More info can't come soon enough-= Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.=- Edward MurphyComment

Re: Xbox One
For me it's not that big of a deal. My systems are always hooked up to the internet, so unless the Xbox servers go down, I'll be fine with playing the games. But if the servers are ever down for more than a few minutes, I could see a huge backlash to their whole system.
Is anybody else excited about playing your games on any console without the disc? If I go to a friend's house, we can play a game I own just by signing into my account without worrying about bringing the disc. Also, the family system is intriguing. The way it is worded and the way they talked about it on that video that was posted is that I could be playing a game I own while a family member plays the same game on a different console. If it actually works that way, it might actually save money for some people.Comment

Like you, it reads to me that family members have access to your games. So all of my brothers could be playing my COD? When on the 360 we all had to buy our own. No way it works like it reads.Comment

Re: Xbox One
No, not for me. My Xbox is always connected and it stays right in my living room. If it came down to it I would have internet over cable. I think my internets gone out once over the past few years. I went to bed and it was backup in the morning. For those who don't have internet I know its an issue. Hopefully the infrastructure in our country continues to grow and everyone who wants reliable internet will be able to get it within the next 5-10 years.
Another reason I'm in favor of digital downloads is it requires one less disc. These discs aren't huge by any means but when you add them up there are hundreds of millions of discs out there. I know a lot of people aren't recycling so the more we keep out of landfills the better.Comment

I can only imagine how gaming will "evolve" when the gen following xbone and ps4 comes out. Maybe they'll require a daily blood sacrifice to confirm dna to xbox live account.Comment

I'm not entirely sure what to make of this, but it doesn't bode well for MS unless they explain why they aren't doing any post-E3 conference or letting anyone talk to Xbox executives.
