Today couldn't have gone worse for Microsoft. Sony buried the 'Bone.

Re: Xbox One
I'm leaning hard towards a PS4. And this is from someone who has never owned any PlayStation. It's just never been more appealing to me. But $100 cheaper, no forced online (I'd hate for my internet going down for whatever reason to keep me from playing offline - that'd annoy me hard), and used games (I only bought three games new last year - most of the games I buy are used). Mass Effect and Halo are probably the only exclusive Xbox titles I've truly enjoyed, and Mass Effect isn't anymore, and Halo doesn't really do it for me anymore.
One thing that could move me back is game prices. Microsoft almost has to come out with a lower software price point at this point, don't they?Comment

We will own an Xbox One, the Kinect stuff and the HDMI passthrough is something I've wanted and mentioned in this thread SO many times since well before it was announced or confirmed. We'll own it for those features by themselves.
Just probably won't be the first next gen console in our house anymore.Comment

Re: Xbox One
MS reacts to Sony only if numbers are overwhelming in in Sony's favor months after release. They may give a bigger collection of free games over XBL till then.
I know bigtime publishers will be very invested in Xbox succeeding. Could see them getting major exclusive love on that front to make them look like the choice to make in the future.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Sony did better console wise, but MS won with games, just for me personally. I don't care about KH or FF, so those didn't move me, I hate Killzone's control scheme, and Destiny is multiplat. 3 best games for me today were Titanfall, Battlefront 3, and Ryze (overall, not on any given side). Nothing Sony showed me games wise made me want to buy their console, it was more the console itself as weird as that sounds.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: Xbox One
Originally posted by Quoting MyselfMS already has its selling points. Kinect, TV Integration, Better Entertainment/Online Ecosystem (at this point) and the potential of cloud computing. The question is are they compelling enough to justify the price point.
A lot of smoke is blown about used games and always online but the price point is what actually matters. The perception before E3 was that MS was playing it safe specs wise and PS4 was going for the premium gamers system, yet the price points are the opposite of that. Microsoft has done a **** job at properly positioning the XBOX ONE and their PR has been even worse.
They've got a lot of selling to do by October.
Random aside: Am I the only one who has noticed both consoles seem to be HDMI only?Last edited by Tha_Kid; 06-11-2013, 01:04 AM.Comment

Perhaps my disappointment will fade, but the real answer to the console wars has always been 'whichever most of your friends have' and there's little doubt that will be PS4 at this point with little else between now and then to change that.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Now it'll be easier when anyone on a console can play online as long as one account is on. And Family Plans. There will be more than ever.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: Xbox One
I thought Microsoft did a great job today, and I was really impressed with their exclusive titles.
Unfortunately (for Microsoft), all Sony needed to do today was match all of Microsofts odd requirements for their console. Not only did they not do that, but they landed a crushing blow with the price point. It didn't help that Sony rubbed it in, either. Really smart move on their part.Writer for Operation Sports

Re: Xbox One
Do you have to say Xbox before all your voice commands? Because it sounds really stupid.Comment

Re: Xbox One
On the 360 saying just "Xbox" will bring up all the visual queues on the screen (Next Episode, Fast Forward, Next Section, Play 1, etc) while saying 'Xbox Next Episode will just do it.Comment
