I was addressing that differentiator, since that's what this is about. Even with a physical disc, you'd just need to gift the person that license as well. Discs are becoming redundant and just a vehicle for retail purchases is all in this system.
Welp. The Family share stuff (which hasn't been clarified, but let's assume it includes a person in the same household for this instance) is reliant upon the person owning an Xbox One as well right? How is this any different than simply letting your family member borrow that game from your "stack" to play on their system?

I could see how this is could be a benefit if this means that person doesn't have to pay for an online pass themselves. I guess that's good (Considering most passes are only 10$)?

As far as giving games away, you can do that with a physical copy of the game (not including said online pass for the game(s) if there are any, which ties into the digital aspect). I guess that's good in that regard?

If you're of the opinion that physical disks should go away into the oblivion that's fine. Not knocking your opinion. But with the current pricing structure of games, unless they cut down to 39.99 I don't ever see it being a viable business model (as nothing IMO is capable of being an impulse buy, which is how Gamestop gets people to buy used games by reducing the price in a reasonable manner most of the times...).

I'm stating why the Xbox One is right for me. Maybe its not right for you and thats perfectly fine. Trust me though, I've analyzed the information that's out there. This is the console I want to purchase. This is the console for me.

I'm glad you're happy with your purchase. I pre-ordered a PS4 and felt it was a really easy choice for me. I don't think it really had anything to do with the X1 as much as I just felt like the PS4 was the console for me. As long as your happy with it, that's really all that matters. I had to hear the same thing when I got a PS3 instead of a 360.

Exactly. At the time only 12 percent of homes had broadband internet, and many raised an eyebrow to broadband only. And like you said, they had vision for XBL and it has delivered. This is what MS has done in a very impressive way. I too wonder about how they have communicated their vision this go around, it has been muddy. But to me they just keep getting better.

But see, there is a very big difference. They're more or less taking offline gaming away from people. There is a difference in adding a feature (Including Broadband Internet) and taking one away (Mandatory Online Logins). Going off their progression, it's reasonable to believe that on the next-gen unit MS puts out, you won't be able to play offline at all.

I certainly respect your opinion but am on the opposite side of the fence. Myself, I currently have a 360 and a PS3. I stood in line for 18 hours to get my launch 360 and while I have a PS3 my 360 gets 98% of my playing time, love the thing.

Having said that, I will now say that Microsoft has lost me as a customer. I will not get the Xbox One and I have pre-ordered a PS4.

As the AT&T kids commercials say, "it's not complicated". I do not want a kinect and if I don't want it I should not be forced to buy it. I buy disc games. What I am able do with a disc game that I purchase should be up to me and me alone, after all I bought it. I am not into all the social media Microsoft is hyping. If I want to do social media I will go to my computer. I don't care to watch TV through a gaming system. Netflix and the like are fine but watch TV through a console? No thanks. Having to connect to the internet every 24 hours......really?

Finally, I buy game consoles to play games and I don't want or need what I listed in the above paragraph.

So, it's goodby to Microsoft for me. Been a good ride but they lost me. If they decide in the future to change things up a bit I will certainly take another look.

I was gung ho about getting xbone on release day, then all this garbage about DRM, internet connection, and being 100 dollars more than PS4...sorry, you have lost an almost exclusive xbox user (have ps3 and use it to play the show, and hot shots golf). I have pre-ordered PS4 launch edition from Amazon, and will have it on release day.

It's funny how Microsoft is so cocky towards people who have major gripes over major stipulations on a 500 dollar machine. "Just play your xbox 360", no I'll just go play my PS4.

I just don't understand why people have to argue about their preferred console. The entire internet is already a huge flame war.

Anyways, does anyone believe that the DRM could lead to Xbox receiving more "exclusives" due to the fact that they are taking a stand for the devs of games? I believe so.

Lol, no I don't see that happening. They aren't taking a stand for the devs, they're increasing direct profits. If nothing else, their new cloud system could be seen as a problem for devs/publishers. You don't want to be the publisher who ticked off gamers with ridiculous drm policies. Ask EA.

I'm getting both at this point (that could change but I have both reserved) because I love technology. Can't help myself.

The XBOX1 has some really nice features. Yes not everything they've done I agree with but I have all the info and I purchase what I want based on that and not what others think.

And to add.. what can the XBOX1 do that the PS4 can't? Play Forza, HALO etc..

Same as the PS4 will play MLB The Show and the XBOX1 can't.

We have a console thread for each system for a reason.

I've got both pre-ordered but noway I can justify to myself or wife lol of getting both at launch. I'm heavily leaning toward the PS4 but I really liked the Xbox One exclusives and the controller. Absolutely hate the restrictions and always on bullcrap though.

I'm probably going to stick with my 360 for at least another year until the new Madden, 2K, and CoD come out. By then I'm hoping this debate will be sorted out. In the end both systems will probably be good. I'm weary about playstation's online service but I don't like having to be connected at all times either. And call me paranoid, but I don't like a camera watching me.

If xbox one can share your library to your 10 family list on an unlimited basis that would be a big big deal. If you can play the game simultaneously with a family member who is sharing your copy than that would just be insane. But they would have to make your family list changeable after a certain time period (maybe 6-12 months after adding).

But that has to cut sales bigtime. Kudos to them if that is true. But they really should have stressed this at their conference if that is the case.

I don't get the console favoritism either. Everyone will know I was very vocal about what I disliked with how MS was handling the X1. At that point we didn't know all the facts, e3 was yet to happen and discussions on the topic were warranted.

Once all the info was released. You then take that info and make a buying decision FOR YOUR SELF. Trying to turn others to see it your way is just pointless bickering.

I heard the info, made my decision to leave MS and bought a PS4. End of story, I have not come in this thread since trying to persuade others to see it my way.

Lbzrules, dispatch, etc are all intelligent guys who are knowledgable enough to make a informed decision. No one is berating you for yours so I think that kind discussion needs to chill out.
