Re: Xbox One
Can anyone explain how this 24 online check works at all? It instantly turns off your console? Does it suspend you for a specific amount of time or until the next check? I mean if I'm in the middle of a game and it kicks me off losing progress, that sucks, but I'm assuming since they want you connected at all times, they will penalize you so you can't just sign right back on. Sorry if I missed this answer in the thread, it's a bit long lolStudent of the game. #Fundamentals

Re: Xbox One
Only about 21 Countries will have access to XBone live services at launch
In unfortunate news, Microsoft has revealed in an official disclaimer page for pre-ordering their next gen console that the Xbox One’s Live services would be available in about 20 countries at launch. Thankfully they did reveal which countries will have Live services once the Xbox One launches, check out the list below. Xbox One Live […]

Re: Xbox One
So, I get how the system works with sharing and trading in of games... sort of. So, this new system from MS with the XB1... won't allow me to buy Madden, or NHL ect. each year, then trade them in prior to the new yearly release, correct? It's essentially eliminated that? For some reason, I can't wrap my head around that part of it. I get the restrictions around sharing with friends, but that basically eliminates a store from taking my trade, correct?
I really don't want to leave Xbox behind, but If Im going to be stuck with year, after year of sports games and get nothing for them... they may have made my decision for me.
Anyone shed a little light on this? Im confused here.Miami Dolphins - Detroit Red Wings - Toronto Blue Jays - Michigan Wolverines - CANADAComment

It is at select retailers. And there will be a fee. So whatever you used to get, especially for Madden, you will be lucky of you get anything at all now.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

- Trade-in and resell your disc-based games:
In our role as a game publisher, Microsoft Studios will enable you to give your games to friends or trade in your Xbox One games at participating retailers. Re: Xbox One
You can trade and buy used games as you normally do.
Also here's some clarifying info:

So lost in all of this... Not sure what to do. Would like to stay with the Xbox1 because I enjoy playing through halo, and always have, but if I couldn't trade games back as I always do now for credit, then I didn't see much point in staying with Xbox... However if I still can... I'm not sure I see the big need to change now. I don't lend games, I don't rent, My console is already online, I don't move it around to places it can't get online, so really... I'm not seeing the big deal here, or am I still missing something? lol Damn them for making this so confusing.Miami Dolphins - Detroit Red Wings - Toronto Blue Jays - Michigan Wolverines - CANADAComment

Re: Xbox One
This is just kind of a general observation/post but has anyone else found their passion of gaming sort of rekindled by all the next gen stuff?
Not to say I had fallen out of love with gaming but TBH I haven't really played anything on my 360 since I was heavily into Blops II and the majority of my gaming has been on the NES/arcades. Not too mention a lot of the attention & $$$ I normally put towards gaming was going to other hobbies.
But once the Sony and MS reveals came and now with E3 I find myself totally rejuvenated and looking forward to the coming of this next gen...it's totally sparked something in me. I cannot wait to get the XBO and eventually the PS4 and tinker with them and play all these incredible looking games coming out. I'm fully back in it and gaming is back at the top of the hobby ladder for me and by quite some margin too.
I usually don't think like this but damn winter can't get here soon enough....Comment

So... maybe I'm still not getting it.. .but what's the big deal then? If you can still trade in games and get credit for them as we always have, or buy a used game for cheap after its release... What's all the commotion over? Sure the online every 24 hours part sucks, but... if the console like the 360 is always online anyways, whats the big deal??

Put in a pre-order for a Day 1 edition through Amazon. Not sure if I will keep it, but if not I'm sure I could resell it to some lazy over indulgent parent who is worried about not getting one for Johnny.Moderator

Re: Xbox One
Brandon, I think the issue is this, no more buying off ebay, craiglist, etc. You get crap for your games at gamestop so you can no longer sell on craigslist or ebay and get what it is worth. That is the issue. Each to their own though. The xbone looked good and had impressive exclusives. No need to bash either console IMO.Comment

I hate literally everything about the XBone, save for the controller, and I know it will sell. I don't want to convince anyone to not buy one if the XBone is what they want. I just air my grievances in here because I absolutely hate the direction they are taking things. No reason to gunk up the forums with millions of threads.
The outrage isn't just a thing with no basis. MS is pissing off a lot of people. Obviously it will still be a retail success. I'm just iffy on the staying power of the system.
Though it doesn't directly effect me, since I won't be buying one ever... It does effect me because it impacts the biggest hobby of my life in a negative way.badComment

Then again, there are people that decide that even if not affected by these restrictions, their sole existance and the fact that many others are affected (i.e. me), is worth enough for not choosing the system, specially when the alternate option not only does not has such restrictions but it has the potential to arguably offer better products (obviously not a certainty), given its apparent more powerfull hardware structure and better devs support service.
Above all, remember that this is not about good or evil, but about what suits you best ... had I had the money would buy them both, but for now, is PS4 for me.Last edited by ffaacc03; 06-13-2013, 12:09 PM.Comment
