Yeah, I haven't read anything to justify that policy (which is nothing new, has existed all last gen as far as I know). Not sure if it's to prevent shovelware or what. Continuing in that direction, some form of the Windows Store which was rumored at one point on the Xbox One would have been killer, and significantly lowered the barrier for entry for aspiring/indie devs.

Also, it could be indirectly related to the piracy thing (which ties in to DRM) since indie devs have been proving for years that good games sell, disproving big publishers main talking points in forcing DRM. That's more on the plausible conspiracy theory side than actual fact though (in relation to the XBone.)badComment

Re: Xbox One
Can someone clarify something for me? I will undoubtedly be purchasing both consoles at some point (already have my PS4 and have been shopping around for the best XB1 bundle to get), but I'm a little worried about the "always online" check-ins.
See, my house/apartment's internet is pretty inconsistent. Sometimes, I'll go hours without internet, and a few times, I've gone days. So I really don't want to get on board with the One just to find out that 5/6 days a year, I won't be able to use it. Especially if one of those days is when I have off or something. So a couple of questions:
1. Do I always have to be connected once I boot my game up? What happens if my internet crashes mid-game?
2. Can I use my phone to check in, on a network? Or does the phone have to be connected to the Wi-Fi for it to work?

2. There isn't really any reason you couldn't do that if your phone supports it - wifi or not - data charges aside.Comment

Re: Xbox One
So basically (I have an IPhone on AT&T's network), as long as I have a network connection, I can still check in? If so, the check-in is an non-issue for me personally.Writer for Operation Sports

Re: Xbox One
With Live, dedicated servers for Multi-Player, the now 2 free games monthly.(Your's to keep even if you cancel your Live Subscription) 1 gold subscription can be shared within a household & the ability to share your game library with 10 Family Members are excellent reason to purchase a Live Subscription, or keep your subscription already.
Exclusives like Titanfall & Quantum Break are AAA titles that many media @ E3 were very excited about & games that possibly could sell systems. Yes they are not launch titles, but they are year 1 titlesComment

During the Announcement at e3 they only confirmed that the two games would only be through November. They may extend it though.Comment
