Fairly sure thats not possible as it stands since you have to have the Kinect to play the Xbox One since the Kinect is how the controllers synch or something like that. Im sure someone can correct me if Im off a bit but I have heard the Kinect isnt just an option and is instead required.

90% of the games sold on STEAM cannot be purchased at Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, etc., and that is why STEAM games are allowed to sell for so cheap.
Console games will never be sold digitally at STEAM-like prices because 75% of those games can also be purchased at Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, etc.
Console makers have retail relationships to maintain that STEAM does not. And retailers would never allow digital console game sales to undercut them to the degree that STEAM discounts games.Comment

Take my posts as you may but my faith has always and will continue to do so, hang by a string.
My posts have mainly been in regard to taking into account multiple factors that may or may not change how the landscape of gaming will look in and after the next decade. The future ain't here yet.. Why not have a little fun making it your own?
DRM isn't anything new, but who knows it could.. Or should I say could of been game changing down the line. We, as the consumers, know nothing on this regard. We predict the future as we see fit but we do not pull the strings or control the market.
What MS decided to do with DRM was a case of that, whether we like or not. As Sinister pointed out, this was not out of the goodness of their owns hearts but in the best interest of their bank accounts. If we don't like it now, for whatever reasons, if both Sony and MS wish to do the same down the line, then what? (Taking into account if we still don't like it). Change is good, in time.
Anyway, farewell gents, I just realised how late it was in the U.K.. Cheerio as we say.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: Xbox One
Here's me beating a dead horse but i preferred the benefits derived from requiring online, like the shared games catalog and the ability to sell and trade digital titles. They've given back our rights to the physical disc, but entirely revoked the newly designed rights to the digital downloads side. Both Sony and MS offer no rights at all with digital downloads, pay for it and get it, and that is it, can't sell it, trade it, swap it, or share it. Imagine being able to sell your digital games to other users, and get more for it than what Gamestop would have given you, and the buyer would be paying less!!!!!!
I certainly see the benefits to others by leaving the model as it always was, but I was hoping for a change, a change that could have revolutionized user rights around digital software purchases.Comment

The DRM was first and foremost about control. Also more money in MSFT's pocket, not yours. That is MSFTs forte.
Those benefits can still be done without those checks, via limited use codes etc. Don't let this overly done DRM that was in place fool you.
If they had all those awesome sounding benefits you describe, then it would have been revealed instantly to make it sound better. It was mostly wishful thinking on people who hoped it would be that way.Last edited by EnigmaNemesis; 06-19-2013, 09:08 PM.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Still the author can't blame the gamer or call us an anchor when MS did a horrible job of explaining everything in a clear/concise manner.Last edited by JBH3; 06-19-2013, 09:37 PM.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

I liked the article too... despite my initial disdain for the policies I eventually preordered and was ready for the digital format and game sharing.
Still the author can't blame the gamer or call us an anchor when MS Siena horrible job of explaining everything in abclear/concise manner.
The two are, and can be, completely separate. If MS truly wants to bring game sharing and a better digital marketplace for resale they can do it, it will just take patience from the consumer.
I don't know how many times that has to be said.badComment
