Does anyone know if the XBOX One has Simplink compatibility like the PS4?
HDMI-CEC (the industry term for the LG re-branding of CEC..Good Lord I hate Simplink)...sorry, that was a small rant. HDMI CEC is not currently supported on the Xbox One. The team (*cough* me *cough*) is very aware of CEC's capabilities.

Anyone by chance grab the offline update that was up a couple days ago? Seems that would be the solution to my disconnected Kinect issue.

        Re: Xbox One

In my short time with the system it was excellent. Love the live TV, voice commands were a little wonky sometimes, only got to play 1 quarter of Madden night of release.

That being said, my "One" no longer reads any disc and has to be sent back to Microsoft for repair. So, after getting one at midnight release, I now have to wait until they send me a new one (it better be new) for the fun to continue.

Obviously leaves a sour taste in my mouth about system, but I will chalk it up as bad luck (for now).

Youtube's app came in at the last minute and I think they're going to do a lot of cool things with it in the future.

Skype uses a lot of video processing and perf was suffering while in snap. Better to not have a feature than to have a crappy feature. If they can get things figured out, the feature may come back. It was one we all liked.

Yeah, the disc drive issues were the biggest call driver the first 24 hours I was in the call center. Sorry it happened to you.

However, overall there weren't too many people that had a bad disc drive and we really had no emergencies or fires to put out worldwide. Call volume stayed pretty steady, as if the Xbox One didn't even launch. Pretty amazing.

                    Re: Xbox One

Has anyone been having issues with being online? It may just be my internet but I've been trying to downloading NBA 2k14 for 25 hours now and it's been at 96% for 8 hours. It says it's downloading but isn't and then will stop for no reason while I'm still connected to Xbox Live. And also I haven't been able to connect to Battlefield servers at all tonight.

Again this could be just my internet but I'm curious if anyone else was having issues like this because it's annoying to have my only digital game keep stopping at 96%

Is it possible to test the disc drive issue without having a game disc?? Can I simply put a DVD or Blu-Ray disc in to test the issue? Is the issue the grinding noise?

                        RD,

Yes, you should be able to test this with any disk. Just for kicks, I pulled out a regular DVD and a Blu-Ray to see if it was just a game issue and both gave me a "Disc Unreadable" error.

My issue was not a grinding noise, but that the Xbox would not read any disc. I had installed and played a quarter of Madden launch night, but as I went to hop on Madden/Battlefield tonight it gave me the disc error.

Love the system! Have been following this thread for awhile now. I have one question though, when I turn off my XboxOne I can sorta hear it. Very light like it's still on? But off. Was wondering if this was normal. Or is there a way I need to completely shut it off?
