That's because it is easy to navigate. If it's hard for someone, that's because that someone probably isn't very bright.

Sigh...too bad there's not a classic dashboard option. I miss this layout. Hell I wish I could go back to this on my 360.

As I said the XBONE feels more like a entertainment focused system with gaming being secondary ie. roku or Apple TV.

That's just the opinion of someone who owns both systems and that's WTF it means to me. Not to say that's a good thing or bad thing, but I grab the PS4 controller more than I do the XBone. I'm sure it's different for others.
Sorry. This is 2013. Almost 2014. I much prefer my gaming console to have the bells and whistles, have the ability to do more than just game, and also play games amazingly, because that's where the future is int he gaming console genre. I'd be very surprised if in the future Sony doesn't come out with some of the same features, Snap TV, etc, that the XB1 has...because if you're not innovating and bringing new stuff to the table, you're being left behind. Microsoft took a huge step forward this generation, so did Sony, but not nearly as much as the XB1 did initially.

That was my background every Christmas. I bet we get backgrounds again.

But we're curious what is cumbersome to you. It's incredibly easy to use. I'm genuinely curious what is hard for you to do on the menu system.

Focus on gaming first, then focus on the bells and whistles. Sounds about right to me. I own both dogs in the fight, so I've got the best of both worlds. But call me "not very bright" all you want I prefer the Sony menu.

Well I'm using this background now on my 360 (I like it too for the Holidays every year)...my point being I liked this layout better because it breathes and was easier for me to get around.

Ever since the Kinect came along, the dash changes have only resulted in so much clutter on screen that backgrounds are nearly pointless, let alone avatars.

I just liked how the avatars and themes gave the system a fun, organic feel to it as opposed to Sony's colder dash on the PS3. Plus the flow was better, IMO.

lol good grief. People act as if the graphics on the XB1 are N64 like.

I really want to know, what specifically is cumbersome or not well thought out? No offense taken or meant, you seem to just want to stir the pot with vague problems rather than what specifically your problem is. I thought snapping was really cumbersome at one point for example, before I found out double pressing the Xbox button swapped focus between that and the main window.

This is the XBO thread afterall, not the pros/cons of both thread.

Nobody is frustrated but you I thought, after all you have a cumbersome gaming-second console and you can't put into words why you feel that way.

I think a lot of it is the issues with Metro that people had with Windows 8. I don't totally get the hate on Windows 8 either (my co-worker runs it on all his machines and doesn't seem that terrible to me).

Other issues are that the One uses Kinect stuff more to make it easy, so some things aren't as easy with controller (also kind of a Metro style hate I think).

IMO this will all get tweaked over the next year and isn't a big deal. MS has proven more than Sony that they're willing to completely redo something if it's not liked. Expect more dashboard changes than PS4, given prior history.

I agree Mgo - MS did do a very good job last gen on the 360 trying to correct things and make the 360 very user friendly - I am not a huge fan of the layout right now, but I have grown more comfortable with it over the last week or so. In a month I won't even think twice about using the One interface -
