    Re: Xbox One

When any of that kind of thing happens try restarting hardware one at a time, sounds like just hdmi handshake issues. We have a bad hdmi/NIC card in my Denon and have to do stuff like that all the time with our setup - predating getting an Xbox One.

The crazy thing is that if I select SKIP the "do you see your TV picture?" Then the video comes through but next time I start up the XBox One it wants me to setup the TV again.

I've worked on it for a good bit testing HDMI cables in and out and switch edit from HDMI auto to just plain HDMI to no avail.

Any ideas? The HDMI in port looks fine..

Same problem here. What I found that worked for me was turning the Instant on feature off and it's been working flawlessly since.

        Limited.

I would have to unplug and plug in the cable...or restart the XBone to have it work.

If I switched anything on the reciever(off of XBone)......I had to redo the process again.

I don't know what brand I have(splitter).....it's a generic one I got off of NewEgg or MonoPrice....it is a powered splitter if that helps.

Well I tried that but it didn't help. I also removed the checkmark about "enable quick gaming (beta) to no avail..

However, I connected the Wii U into the Xbox One and I got video just fine so it looks like it's something with my cable box, not the Xbox One.

So tomorrow I will reset it and mess around with the settings on my DirecTV box...

It's a technically unsupported scenario. Some users have no success, some have limited success, and others actually get a better experience using a splitter. I'd check out the official Xbox forums or places like avsforums to see what they suggest if you really want to follow this route. However, it's not officially recommended because of the variety in splitters and that many of them aren't really HDMI compliant.

Well, the website isn't hosted by Microsoft, that would seem suspect. It's also not registered as per Microsoft's usual route.

Given that it's been up for a few hours now, wouldn't it have been taken down? It has MS's property all over the screen.

Not necessarily, look how long thesurvivor2299 was up and it had logos property of Bethesda all over it.

As far as I can see, nothing the site uses isn't free to use (XBone logo, nondescript helmet icon that we all know is supposed to be but isn't actually an infringed trademark), so MS doesn't really have a case to demand removal, and who knows what the host would do with such a demand as a lot of hosts aren't keen on shutting down paying customers at some flimsy whim.

I'm seriously considering trading in my PS4 for an Xbox One.

I like the PS4, but my gaming has really slowed down over the past few years.

Microsoft really pushed me away with their restrictions early on. To the point where the One wasn't even on my radar come release time.

Now I'm really seeing what the One can do and I feel like I'll get more bang for my buck with the One.

I'm a fan of baseball. Not a diehard like I used to be though (thanks Orioles). The Show is an awesome game, but I end up getting frustrated with it and trade it in halfway through the season. I don't really have the time to master it.

I'm not going to rush into a decision. I've done that in the past with different things and ended up regretting it.

It's just something that I've been considering he past few days. I'll more than likely stick with the PS4 and pick up a One down the road.

Thanks. #1 is what concerns mean the most. That should not be happening, once you go through setup, you should never go through it again unless you go into TV settings. Do any other apps show this behavior? Are there other settings that don't seem to persist between reboots?
