They needed to do something like this. This move will undoubtedly upset those who already have the XB1 and paid full price yet didn't get a game like Titanfall included.

The cost of early adoption.

Unsurprised, as this game is their literal sliver of hope to try to get a little slice of market share back early.

Still not a game/console worth $500 to me, but it's a good move on their part.

Anyone upset about this is a bit... silly... to me. If you're unhappy with it, it just seems like you're unhappy with your purchase.

If you've been enjoying the system and the games then would be no reason for jealousy.

$60 is $60. I don't dislike the system. I dislike that I got the system 16 days ago and now have to pay for a game that others are getting for free.

You can fault early adopters, but this isn't normal for console gaming. New consoles don't typically drop in price or get a game bundled three months after release.

They should have announced it around the time of the Titanfall beta. I'm sure there were quite a few people that played the beta, enjoyed it and picked up the system since there was an existing game or two that they wanted to try, but couldn't justify it earlier.

I'd contact your retailer and ask they make it right....most will work with you if it is within 30 days. After all you could just box up the system and send it back..which you nor they would want you to do..

Yeah, I'm trying. Best Buy phone support said they couldn't help me since it's not their bundle. They can't just give me a free game for it. I'm going to try the store. If that doesn't work, I may take it back. I'm just not sure. It just seems like such a waste for everyone (me, Best Buy and MS).

The open box item is just going to sit on the floor for a while. They can't be happy about that. I was hoping that MS would step up and do something. Even if it was reimbursing retailers for credit giving to people that purchased within 30 days.

Unfortunately, it's just a case of bad timing for you. Hope you can manage to get some deal out of it from Best Buy, but not likely unfortunately.

Why would MS give people a free game outside of their bundle? They gave away FIFA and Forza to European buyers at lunch in their bundles while US got nothing.

It's just part of the process.

I didn't say they should just give away a game to everyone. They are going to have hardware returns. They can prevent that by just giving them codes. Nobody wants the hardware to be returned.

It's just part of the process.

This process started quite early. Much earlier than anyone thought.

I am pretty sure everyone assumed there would be a Titanfall bundle, it's been teased for 2 months.

But what I mean is that you're all worked up on here, making phone calls, etc. All that takes a toll. Either deal with it or just do the return. Making phone calls and complaining isn't accomplishing anything. I get it, it sucks that you're out $60, but it happens all the time. Can't tell you how many times I've bought a game to only have it drop $20-$30 a month later.
