Re: Xbox One
I'm wondering if you can get any audio out of the headset they give you? Like you can on the 360.Comment

Re: Xbox One
Now that I am getting the voice commands down, my dashboard is mainly controlled by my voice. I can understand some looking over hand gestures, but voice works well and it is not just a novelty.
What I would like to see, but highly doubt, is the inclusion of some type of macros for voice recognition. Microsoft is not new to voice recognition. They had a system implemented for windows where you could develop just about any voice command for navigation and UI control.
For instance, right now we can say, "Xbox volume up {down}" and it will raise/lower the volume by a couple notches. With a macro you could set specific levels like, "Xbox set volume to 17." It's in there, they just need to make it accessible.Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment

1) TVs generally won't tell us what their current volume levels is, or what the max level is, so we have no context for a volume change.
2) Numbers are hard to disambiguate from each other, so having commands like "volume up #" could cause false positives.
However, I'm sure the speech team is trying to think of ways to make the interaction even better and more natural and ideas like yours have certainly been thrown around.?The Bulgarian Brothers - a story of two brothers (Oggy and Dinko) as they coach in the NCAA and the NBA.

Re: Xbox One
Definitely a good idea. Two things that makes your idea hard (but not impossible) are:
1) TVs generally won't tell us what their current volume levels is, or what the max level is, so we have no context for a volume change.
2) Numbers are hard to disambiguate from each other, so having commands like "volume up #" could cause false positives.

Re: Xbox One
I see. Now, if we say, "Xbox Volume Up," the volume doesn't go up a random number. I believe it goes up and down by two. That means there is language in there that programs the voice recognition "if 'xbox volume up' then increase volume by 2." If that is the case, we could say, "Xbox, increase volume by 10."
If yours is only going up 2, it's probably because the first volume command displays the volume, then the next 2 make it go up.
The voice commands would still suffer from the possibility of mishearing the number, but I'll let the speech guys solve that problem if they ever choose to implement that.?The Bulgarian Brothers - a story of two brothers (Oggy and Dinko) as they coach in the NCAA and the NBA.

Re: Xbox One
Exactly, that is what you can do today by editing the (extremely hidden) setting today. Right now it sends 3 commands, but you can send as many as 10.

Re: Xbox One
Due to the settings design, we were forced to stuff settings in unfortunate places. I've taken this area over and I'm looking at ways to holistically fix TV, OneGuide, and Device settings.
If we ship an update to it, I'll let you guys know in the TV thread I have.?The Bulgarian Brothers - a story of two brothers (Oggy and Dinko) as they coach in the NCAA and the NBA.
