Also seeing on the Xbox forums that a ton of people in NXOE are having NAT issues. Glad I gave up trying to get mine open because it seems to not be an issue on my end. Can't see this new U/I launching in November at this point. Not with these big games coming out.

I just got the Asus RT-N66U router and my NAT is open without even doing anything.

My NAT is showing open and all seems fine, but when I run the multiplayer test is says I have an MTU problem. All the other tests come back normal.

I was fine before NXOE. I have a netgear not sure which one exactly. Not ready to switch routers yet. Even having a moderate NAT doesn't seem to effect me much it's just more annoying than anything


Although a quick search shows that router around 100 bucks. Might be tempted.

So, with the HDD issues, I just got an update: known issue, fix coming to preview very soon.

No update on NAT stuff you are seeing.

My router is probably due for an upgrade. It's about 5 years old. Part of me just wants to hold off though I haven't really had any issues until now so spending 150 on a router seems silly. Even though it's probably a smart move either way.

Oh yeah, mine was 4 years old and I finally updated that and the WiFi adapter on my gaming PC. It was amazing. 5Ghz makes a huge difference, and I can actually stream Media Center Extender stuff to my 360 (which is connected to my gaming PC via ethernet bridge) over WiFi.

Will also help a lot with game streaming, if you do that.

Sounds great studbucket! I'll be anxiously awaiting that next update and hopefully we'll finally get the issue ironed out!

While it's been an inconvenience, I'm still glad I've gone through jumping to the new experience, because what could have potentially been a big bug that slipped through the process will now have been brought to light and hopefully finally fully squashed after this next update due to the multiple bug reports I've filed and hopefully that others have filed due to their difficulties with external drives.

That, and in all honesty, I actually have rarely had any issues with the new experience. Only problems I've had is the still ongoing issue with formatting an external drive, and early on an issue where when turning on the console and signing into my profile on wireless, it was like the wireless was slow to connect, leaving all of my tabs in the community, guide and store menus completely blank like I was offline and only way I could find to fix it was to sign out of my profile and sign back in.

That issue has now been fixed since either earlier in the week or end of last week, but other than the external drive issue and the very occasional app or game hang up and/or crash, I've had no other problems with the new experience.

I just got home. I don't have it either. I just saw a post on the preview forum saying that they got another one today. Maybe they were misunderstood.

Yeah, I'm hoping we can get some clarification from studbucket regarding a couple things.

The fix he mentioned for external drives, is the update that he's talking about the one I installed at 10pm last night, or a different, newer one that will be releasing later tonight or over the weekend?

Because the update I installed last night lists formatting external drives as among the fixes, but when I try to format mine, it still fails in exactly the same way and in exactly the same place as before the update.

So hopefully we can get clarification on if last night's update is the one he's talking about that is supposed to fix the external drive issue or if there is a new update we'll see tonight or this weekend that is supposed to finally fix the issue. So at least I'll know whether to be looking for another new update or if last night's update was all we'll see for a few days.

I don't know exact timing of the fix, but it's not out yet. The new build last night didn't have it. There will likely be a new build over the weekend (as we have done a new preview update on Fri, Sat, Sun most weeks).

Excellent! That is exactly the news I was hoping for! I just wanted to be sure whether you were referring to last night's update or an upcoming update tonight or this weekend before I got my hopes up.
