Ive notice the blur on that tv from the time I turned it on. Coming from the JS9500 that was perfect and plasmas before I could tell. Football was horrible

Curved tv is no different then flat. The curve is not crazy and after the first week it looks flat.

I have a 65" Samsung curve and I love it. I can honestly say that I haven't noticed blur even though I'm sure it's there. Hate now that I've read this lol.

The curve has better motion blur performance, contrast, and brightness over the non curved 8000

            easily worth the extra 100

I thought they where the same out side of the curved and I think curved is a gimmick I don't see the point in having curved but I have been looking at this TV and the 49inch or 55 inch tv to maybe buy closer to black Friday. So I will have to keep this in mind now.

they are the same for the most part but reviews based it on value and how it looks from a curve to flat panel perspective

I have zero issues with curved sets as the curveness is so minute i cant tell unless i stand next to it

The 8000 bothered me with the motiion blur in sports and some games

the 8500 improves a bit on that and that to me is worth the curveness and extra 100

Curved provides depth. It's a nice effect that is hard to appreciate unless there's is a good demo set up. That being said, I enjoy the ks8000, have noticed the motion issues a few times but not enough to make me regret the purchase.

If you look at Rtings review the difference isn't by much. The contrast is almost identical and so is the black uniformity. The color gradience and grey uniformity is better on the ks8000. Also, the difference in motion blur is 2ms. To me that's not enough to make a huge difference. I'd barely noticed motion blur that bothered me. The only game that it's very noticeable to me is NBA2k and I'd like to try that game on the ks8500 to see how much better motion blur is. Out the box the ks8500 needs to be calibrated because it's not as accurate as the ks8000. For some reason I feel like I'm going to go to Best Buy and barely notice any difference but I could be wrong lol. Hate how curve tvs look.

What I'm really waiting for is OLED. Once it comes down in price and they manage to lower the input lag I'm all in.

As a tv enthusiasts out of the box settings mean nothing to me as I never turned a tv on and kept stock settings. The settings for the KS8000 on RTINGS work perfect on the curve screen.

Do not buy the curve if you hate curved tvs

The difference was enough for me in the most important aspects that I look for in a tv

Motion Blur, Contrasts, and Bright ness

Might be a lil that means nothing to you but it means a lot to someone who hates motion blur and notices it easily

I love the 8500 and I also loved the 8000 but the 8500 has a spec bump that is enough for me to spend just 100

Kinda makes me want to check out the 8500 to see how much less the motion blur is, because a 2ms difference is almost nothing. I'll go to Best Buy tomorrow and see what they tell me. I'm an Elite plus member so I'll ask a manager if I can pay the difference.

just take your console in a school bag and ask them to let you plug it in...there is a difference and not once have it complained about the issue with the curve and it bugged me with the flat...but remember that i can just be more sensitive about it then you

but if flat is important to you do not change...the motion blur is slightly improved and so is contrast and brightness....but in small bumps only so you gotta decide if flat is more important...I dont notice the curve after the first hour

There's pros and cons to either one. One has slightly better contrast while the other has better grey uniformity and etc. The amount of difference in both is minute. I don't really see the motion blur to be honest besides one game. To me getting the curve is a negative and I'm hearing the latest update has helped with motion blur. I'll probably feel a little silly bringing my PS4 to the Best Buy store lol. I'll see if I pass by this weekend, but I'll honestly say I'm very happy with my tv so far.
