    Re: Xbox One

Earlier this year when I joined the XBox crowd, my trade-in experience was pretty similar but really only based around the PS4. I traded in my PS4, 6-8 games, and 2 controllers. There was a trade-in promotion, and I ended up walking out with the Battlefield XBox One S bundle, FIFA 17, a 12-month XBox Live membership, and an extra XBox One controller for like $30-40.

Gamestop has GREAT deals if you're patient enough to look for them. I picked up a new copy of Injustice 2 this past weekend for $39.99. It was even cheaper than the sale price on the XBox Store ($44.99).

Is there a way to continue to download games/software updates when you're not at home? All I see is Instant On and Power Saver for power options, but neither one says anything about downloads, at least as far as I can tell.

There is something in the settings that says, keep games up to date or something like that. Sorry at work, so I don't have the exact wording.

Looks like it's time to trade those 2 in. Good timing with Gamestop's trade deal still going on.

I don't really play those kinds of games, but it's very tempting to at least give it a shot when they can be played for free with EA Access. I've gotten my money's worth and then some with the service!

I got my XBox One in January, so I didn't get to go through the free trials before last year's releases (I had already bought most of them on PS4). I'm looking forward to getting in some good quality time with the games to see if I want to buy or not. FIFA 18 is a definite, but I'll wait and see on the others.

Keep in mind the trials are always available, not just prior to release. You can go home right now and play elements of both of those games today as an EA/Origin Access subscriber.

Yeah, my son played the NHL trial when we got the XBOX ONE. I just meant it'll be nice to try all of them this year before buying the game. I had already bought most of the sports games on my PS4 before deciding to trade it in. Haha

I think this is a mistake by EA in regards to Battlefield 1. It's an awesome game and has an expansion coming out in September. You would think that EA would wait until November or early 2018 to add Battlefield 1 as the expansion may bring them some extra sales as some people just want the game itself as opposed to it being tied to a subscription based account.

Titanfall 2 was awesome as well. For FPS this generation, Titanfall 2 was 1A, Battlefield 1 was 1B, Wolfenstein: TNO was 2nd, COD: IW was 3rd, Doom was 4th and Wolfenstein: TOB was 5th for me personally.

Such a shame to see EA bury Titanfall 2 the way they did. The FPS genre is my least favorite genre that I play but man, was this game damn good.

Note: My rankings are just for the single player campaigns.

People will still buy them, not everyone is a subscriber and EA Access titles have really nice sales typically.

Yeah...I'm sure they analyze sales and have done tests to see how EA Access impacts that vs. consistent EA Access subscription profits.

Those are two great games though...if I had more time I'd be all over either EA Access or Game Pass...not sure which is better, haven't analyzed yet.

Both, depending on the tastes. EA is certainly a particular 'flavor' of gaming, as well as sports.

GamePass is a pretty wide variety.

EA Access for $30 year though is a lot of gaming, even if you just stick to the trials. I never exhausted my ME3, Battlefield 1 or Titanfall trials. Look forward to playing them more soon though.

Personally, I don't have a GamePass sub, but sub to EA and Origin Access for Console and PC.

True. I'm sure EA has done their research. Game will probably drop in price by then too. Both games are great. I enjoyed both of them equally for different reasons. Only put Titanfall 2 slightly ahead because of the few awesome gameplay mechanics that is in the game.

There's a free 14 day trial for Game Pass in case you don't know. I looked it over and for me personally, it's not worth it because the majority of the games are last gen which I either already played and completed or I simply have no interest in.

EA Access is definitely an excellent service overall and even more so if you're an EA fan(boy). I'm still surprised that no other third party publisher has copied this by now. It's only been what? Three years? Oh well.
