Xbox definitely dropped the ball this Gen for exclusives, once you past the Gears, Forzas, Halos, they really didn't add a new worthy IP this generation. Seems like they're trying to remedy that.

Nope, they did not. For the first few years I was 100% a Sony guy, even though I owned both systems. And yes it does have exclusives way superior to Xbox.

But the last few years since Xbox One X came out I play vastly more on the Xbox One X.

Why? Because exclusives really only primarily matter if you can only afford to buy one system.

If you have both systems it becomes largely irrelevant. The bulk of titles that typical gamers buy are not exclusive titles but multi-platform titles.

So while yes I do want Microsoft to do a lot better with their exclusives, absolutely, that does in no way mean that they have dropped the ball when they have the superior hardware to Sony.

More like they made poor choices and "swung and missed"...Scalebound and others got canceled or Crackdown 3 didn't hit the mark....etc.

I agree with everyone that they're throwing money at it and should pay off in a couple years once games have had time to be made.

Prey, Monster Hunter World, and others coming to Game Pass...I was looking at those two specifically, pretty nice.

FWIW I feel like sunset OD is overlooked as far as new IPs go. Probably a lot to do with how the initial launch of the console went. It did pretty well review wise and was fun as hell to play.


I think that and RYSE could both be solid moving forward if they decided to invest in them. I think insomniac said they would be down to make a a sunset 2 if Microsoft helped them with the cost of making a game like that again.

Microsoft tried...it's not like they didn't attempt to make good 1st party games. Just a bunch of decisions that ended up being horrible. Plus around the Xbox One launch there was all the insanity. I think leadership is in a better place and more aligned with MS now.

Sunset Overdrive was really fun...I'd play another one

Golf Club 2 looks cool too! Game Pass at a deal is much more worth it vs. me spending money on games. I can have a short attention span and that's not really wasteful.
