So it seems like that article I read awhile ago about the Wii U wasn't wrong about devs having trouble with the Wii U. The only way time could be an advantage for that system is that it would give the a little more time figure out how to incorporate their games into the gamepad or whatever. Also could give them more time to jump ship from that console early if they feel like it isn't worth it.

Sucks about only 40% wanting to stay at current-gen though. Guessing that those include the sports developers. I do believe that the 360 will be the longest lasting console of this gen with everything currently being added to it.

I think I'm finally starting to feel ready for the next-gen. I doubt I'll be touching Nintendo's console this time through though.

So basically when these new consoles drop it wont be better graphics just more things developers can addget to games?

I'm sure graphics will be enhanced, but I think the flexibility in the system will be a big factor for the next generation. And it will be more of an all-in-1 box, for video games, web browsing, TV, etc. Thats the next step in gaming evolution as shown by the E3 press conference today by the 360.

I still believe we won't see the new Sony and M$ systems until 2014, at the earliest.

Why would they wait that long? They haven't been selling that many consoles and developers are already making their games with the next systems in mind.

U think with our economy as it is right now and u already saying the current systems aren't selling that great now and new line of systems will, come on now. I think its smart not to go to new systems right now, good move by both on that decison

Economy is doing little to slow MS and Nintendo, 3DS is doing well and Microsoft is coming out of a record year w/ the 360. The industry is slumping, but it's greatly self inflicted (lack of releases, death of the Wii, Sony being Sony).

Outside of nothing mentioned at E3 (which doesn't necessarily mean anything), it's honestly just the feeling I get from watching both Sony and M$ talk. I honestly don't think they're worried at all about the WiiU release because they both have the technology to do similar things with their current machines utilizing the Vita, and Smartglass.

Obviously I don't have any proof of anything, I just don't get the vibe that we'll be seeing the new consoles next year.

Sony did it in 2005, announcing the PS3 at E3 to be released over a year later.

Personally, I get the feeling we will see new systems next year.

Man the gaming industry moves quick, I'm not sure I'm ready to move on, even by next year.

Is this just the way it works or have MS, Sony, and developers finally got everything they can out of their consoles? To me it still feels like there's more to discover.

Had my PS3 about 5 and a half years now. The ol' girl still runs in tip top condition, mainly because I upgraded a few parts last year.

Yeah...I don't want a new console right now. I feel both the PS3 and 360 have a ways to go as far as devs stretching their limits.

Stupid question: Would we ever get games made on a Blu Ray disc?

Games are still looking really good on the current consoles and I don't think a lot of developers are very excited over a new console. Plus with the economy the way it is, will people really spend $500 to $600 on a new system at this point?
