Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I have finally purchased The Last of Us. I'm pretty sure I'm the last PS owner to have not played it on either the 3 or the 4.
I'm restarting Tomb Raider since I got about halfway through months ago and then got distracted from playing it. And now I've forgotten most of the story.
So among TLOU, TR, The Show, Madden and COD, my gaming is set for the holidays.Comment

Same here. Every evening they go on my charger. I've only had my controller die on me once so far that I can remember and that was after a good amount of time playing. Just swapped it with the one on charger and I was back to gaming in seconds.
So far the life has been good.Joshua:

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Tomb Raider was cool but button prompts during action scenes feels so dated. I understand it's a PS3/Xbox 360 game so it gets a pass.
Which is why my hype level for The Order has diminished significantly. Every demo is full of button prompts. Went from a day one purchase to waiting for a price drop.
My current PS4 addiction is Binding of Isaac. Just plain old stupid fun even if I didn't know what the hell I was actually doing until around the 10 hour mark. Game is eating up anytime I could be using to play all the new games I bought.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Secret Ponchos (and the upcoming Helldivers) were two of my wanted Indie games but both being online multi-player games only ended me wanting them. I'm not 100% sure on Helldivers but fro what I have seen and read, it seems the setup is the same as Secret Ponchos.
Very disappointing and thus one more reason why gaming is slowly but surely getting worse instead of better in my opinion.
I understand the fascination with online multi-player and co-op but to me, it all starts and should end with single player because that's what gaming started as and was all about. Single player gaming and then, playing with friends in the living room.
All this other stuff (and the FPS genre) has turned me to so many games that I normally would have purchased and played.
Oh well. At least the Lara Croft game that just came out a few days ago can be played solo through the campaign just like the first one which is great because Guardian of Light was one of the best XBLA/PSN games of last generation. Hoping Osiris at least matches it.
And for those who want an old school Earthbound type RPG, Citizens of Earth is scheduled to release in January.Comment

In general, Tomb Raider was still an excellent game and I preferred it over Uncharted 3. The Last Of Us was excellent as well with great gameplay but it's the story and character that makes it a great game. Neither are perfect and have their share of negatives but the positives far outweigh them.
As for The Order, it's a day one buy for me based on it being a PS4 exclusive, who's developing it, the setting and atmosphere and it being a team based shooter which will be only the third one that I hope to finish. Don't mind the prompts.Comment

Helldivers is, last time I checked anyway, going to have both single player and co-op support.
As for the bolded, I think the biggest problem with the industry is bloat from AAA games/studios.
