Is the 500gb HD in the PS4 right now able to be switched into the PS3?

I wanted to upgrade my ps4 hardrive and then use the 500gb from the PS4 to upgrade by 60gb ps3

I don't see why not. It's your average laptop hard disk. That's a great use for the old drive.

Yeah it'll work on the ps3...

Hey guys, if you do decide to use your old ps4 drive on an xbox one just a tip: format the drive on a Windows PC and then connect to the Xbox One. The way the ps4 formats the drive is odd so when you connect it to the Xbox One it sees it as a 16gb drive and will tell you its too small to use.

Sometimes I will turn my PS4 on, and the display settings will be 480P and black bars will be at the top and bottom of the screen. The audio doesn't work either. I have to restart the system for the issue to be fixed. Has anybody else encountered this problem?

              That is odd.

I used to get that on the PS3...try turning off auto detect and just input your audio and video parameters. That's what I did on the PS3 and never had any further issue.

                  Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

Follow up. For anyone interested, I finally found something willing to charge both my PS3 and PS4 controllers directly from an AC wall outlet.

This unit pictured below was absolutely necessary for recharging PS3 controllers because the PS3 controllers require a usb with "data" pin connection. PS4 controllers are less picky; they will charge using any phone chargers, etc. (Picture 1 from the ebay seller; Picture 2 photograph taken today). The unit has two available usb charging ports.

I am now able to continually game without interruptions, without the need to worry about either the PS3 or PS4 controller's batteries. The Sony OEM AC charger is currently hooked up directly next to my bed and my PS3/PS4 consoles hidden in a closet on the opposite side of the room.

Picture 1: $10 dollar total out of pocket.

You can use any micro USB though... thats just spending more than what you should.

It was actually necessary spending...specifically for the PS3 controller.

It's not the micro USB cable, it's the AC wall adapter that made the difference specifically for the PS3 controller. What I bought was an AC wall adapter that apparently has a set of data pin. Any micro USB cable will work, but only very specific AC wall adapter will provide the juice required to charge a PS3 controller.

Prior to the purchase, I tried each and every single micro usb wall ac adapter (phone charger, LG, Samsung, AT&T, etc. etc.) and nothing worked, ever, to charge my PS3 controller. (Note: yes everything works to charge a PS4 controller, but the PS3 controller is ridiculously specific. Sure I could have used my computer cooped up inside my closet but I wanted something that sits directly adjacent to my bed's AC outlet).

Happens with mine every time I turn it on. It is my receiver that the PS4 doesn't HDMI handshake correctly with because I've tried a different PS4 and got the same results. I have to power the receiver off and then back on every time I want to play the PS4. Happens with the Wii U as well. No problems with the DirecTV, PS3, or Xbox 360 though which are also all connected with HDMI. I called Denon, the receiver manufacturer, they didn't seem to care.

It's very simple. I was hesitant to do it too, but you shouldn't have any issues.
