Has there been any rumors of a longer lasting controller in the future?

I haven't seen any rumors about the matter.

The reason why there hasn't been any third party controllers is the touchpad.

Unless Sony improves the battery life on their own controllers, I wouldn't count on it.

It may have been already covered here, but to make the controller battery last longer: dim the light, disable vibration, reduce the volume. It works well for me.

I would hate to turn the vibration off.

I already did...I don't know what I'm missing any more. I wonder if 2K15 has a use for it (I forgot what it was like to play basketball game with vibration). I may be missing something.

Maybe shooting free-throws as the away team, otherwise I can't think of much myself.

Put a bigger battery in the controller. they are removable.

So it really depends on the type of game you are playing. If you are playing a game that requires constant multiple button presses I noticed that cuts your battery fast.

For example, playing NBA 2K15, 1 game of that on 12 minute quarters which equals to 1 hour 10 minutes of real life time, my controller battery be a little less then half way dead. But playing a full game of MLB The Show, my controller only be just a tad bit dead.

                        2 controllers is a must.
I don't think button presses has anything to do with battery life...my fiancé and I play Diablo which is constant and rapid button presses.

This has happened a couple of times now ... when I have the console in standby and turn it back on, I get a message saying to press the PS button to begin, which I do, and then nothing happens. I eventually just turned the PS4 completely off because I got sick of waiting and had to go to work.

                          Anyone else experience this?

I don't know if it's similar but there was an issue previously where if you put it in stand by, you couldn't turn it back on without unplugging it.

They seemingly fixed that with an update and isn't exactly what you're experiencing.

Haven't been able to log on to PSN for a few days now. Been getting the SU-30696-4 error code. Tried rebuilding the database and updating software via USB, and reset my router. Nothing has worked, as I'm still getting the error.

I know PSN had maintenance earlier, but it should be over now. Should I just wait it out or is there a solution?

On the support site it states that SU-30696-4 means the your system failed to update. The update file may be corrupt. Are you downloading the correct update onto your usb?

                                This should be it:
