Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Yeah the Gamestop trade in for pro members will probably be like 200 and then you pay the other 200 including taxes, that's if they release it at 399$ like some of the sources are saying.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
That gif is also good for all the higher ups at Sony.
The HTC Vive is crap as is that cardboard VR garbage. So those two aren't a factor. OR is the only competition and from those who have played both OR and PSVR, they say PSVR is better and more importantly, is actually more comfortable to wear and the screen is further out in the headset.
If Sony couldn't get the PSVR to where they wanted it to be with the current PS4 then they shouldn't have done it at all. They should have waited for PS5 and build it in connection with PSVR and go from there as opposed to rushing it out to market.
Of course, it doesn't matter because game wise, PSVR will be dead in two years anyway so it's all pointless in the end.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
GameStop's trade in value is at $200 credit now for PS4. No way in hell it's even more than $100 once the new PS4 gets released. After all, why the hell would GameStop want the console that's considered inferior compared to the new PS4? No new consumer is going to buy the old PS4 for $300 when they can buy the newer one for $400. This entire idea is going to blow up in Sony's face and I'll be laughing when it does.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Daniel, the only thing that's gonna blow up is my wallet when I walk into Gamestop and try to buy every box they got on the shelf.
I think this is the coolest thing Sony has ever done. I'm gonna be giggling like a schoolgirl, as giddy as can be, when I'm driving home from the store with this powerhouse behemoth strapped in safe and sound in the passenger seat.
When I camp out in front of Gamestop ill live-tweet the entire extravaganza so everyone can experience the PS4.5 revolution. And by everyone I mean all 7 of my followers, so basically my parents, my brother, his girlfriend, and a couple random porn accounts that followed me for no reason, I swear.
Damn Sony, back at it again with stealing my heart, and my money. Keep these ever increasingly epic game systems coming.
I hope the PS4.75, or PS4.999999 end up coming out consecutively each following Christmas so I can keep feeling like a little kid again unboxing these monster machines over and over again.
Hey.
Seriously, like for real. This isn't that big of a deal. I understand why people won't buy one, I understand why people will buy one. There is a market for this. If you already own a ps4, you will still own a ps4 after the 4.5 comes out. Your system isn't gonna vanish into thin air overnight at launch. I think predicting the demise of Sony is a little drastic. Just my opinion, of course.
Getting games like The Show running at constant 60fps will be awesome, can't wait to get the upgraded system."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Gamestop wants the ps4 because they can flip it when ps4 drops down to 299 and they give you 200 and sell it used for 260
many will want a ps4 at 260 then paying 440 or 550 prices of the new ps4kComment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Related info from a meeting we had yesterday was waiting for it to be approved before posting.
Price is currently $399.99 they were discussing a better CPU which would raise the price to $499.99 we were guaranteed the price will be no higher than $499.99 (He mentioned the CPU upgrade quite a bit almost as if they haven't really decided on a final spec could be a pricing issue.) also there is currently no plan for any type of trade in program for current PS4 users but that could change.
They stated that the GPU is twice as powerful as standard PS4 and much faster. They did not say exactly how fast but that is was running at a higher clock speed while being much smaller than the original.
It will have a 4k blu ray player and will upscale games that are not natively 4k.
Also there was talk of some sort of VR lounge for the media player app which is supposed to be getting a substantial upgrade.
It was stated plainly and with no room for interpretation that there are developers that already have development kits for the PS4K and that they are making games that will directly target and take advantage of the higher specs of the PS4K. It was also stated that these games will in fact work for the PS4 but with considerable sacrifices made to performance.
It was also made very clear that current games would not be getting any type of performance upgrades by being played on the system and any benefits to older games would come via patch per game and per developer. When asked if this was going to happen the response was "Its a possibility but doubtful with the exception of a handful of games."
We were also given a list of games that will be available at launch that will directly take advantage of the PS4K where the differences are and I will quote him "Significant."
For the PSVR
Eve Valkyrie
Robinson
GT Sport
For the PS4K
Deep Down (Thought this was dead)
GOW4 (This was the exact abbreviation on the sheet I can only assume its god of war 4)
There were more games on the list but these are the ones that stood out to me.
That's all I can remember off the top of my head I'll see if I can get any more information.
Edited to add:
I got a bit more information today but I am trying to find out who all knows about it before posting.
Also the word "Sacrifices" is being blown out of proportion. There are sacrifices made when making a console version of a game as compared to a PC game or when making an XB1 game as compared to a PS4 game. Don't expect PS4 games to all of a sudden become **** just expect them to run better on PS4K. I would expect a game that is really pushing the graphics envelope to run at 1080p 60fps on PS4K while the same game might run at 900p 60/30fps on PS4. Just the way I took it.
If this is the case, I see no reason to ditch my PS4 to be honest.Comment

It is a big deal. Last gen introduced a lot of garbage that didn't exist previously - season passes, cut content, micro-transactions, companion apps for games, episodic games, etc.
NONE of that is any good as it does one thing - rip gamers off. Releasing a PS4.5 three years later just to rip consumers off isn't a good thing. Yeah, it's going to be more powerful until a few months later when the novelty of it wares off and you see the same problems and people complaining that it's still underpowered. Consoles are meant to stay the same at it's core. It's not meant to be upgraded every year or every three years. No, it's meant to last an entire gen. That's what a console is meant to do. Consoles are not PC's and why any console gamer would want it to become like that is beyond me because you already have that in PC's. If you want that, go play on PC and upgrade it every six months just to play a damn game that no matter the resolution, frames or how good it looks, it STILL won't look good enough to most.
What's worse is that how is it all of a sudden, PS4 is weak or underpowered yet it was fine months ago and years ago at launch? Sorry but it's all bullcrap. Games may look slightly better but big deal, that still won't prevent the games from being released with bugs, glitches and other problems that in the end, need to be patched. Way too many gamers are obsessed with how games look yet visuals mean nothing if the gameplay sucks or if the game is broken.
Now, we're expecting publishers, greedy publishers mind you to not only work on the PS4.5 version but also the lower PS4 version and release both at the same time with minimal to no problems? Good luck with that as they can't even get the games to run without problems on one console let alone two in the same family. Add in having to port the game over to the competing console (or two competing consoles if Microsoft does the same thing) and you're simply just asking for problems.
Maybe if publishers didn't insist on showing games running off high end PC's and actually showed them what they look like on consoles, maybe gamers wouldn't be so graphics hungry. Maybe if publishers and Sony themselves thought about all of this before launching PS4 and said, "with the x86 structure", this console can be expanded and upgraded on, maybe then it wouldn't be as bad as the backlash currently is but when you go out and buy a console, you're expecting it to be supported and last for at least five years, minimum.
Releasing PS4.5 is nothing less than a slap in the face to the 40m consumers who own one which includes millions from launch who purchased a PS4 after jumping ship because of Microsoft's horrible E3 2013 but guess what? Those consumers can easily jump back if they so choose. Add in those who just purchased a PS4 this past holiday season and then tell them, well, your console is only a year old (if that) but it's outdated? Seriously, WTF is that crap?
Add in the fact that the PS4 dropped to $350 and yet, the new PS4 will be $400 or even $500??? And you're not even getting what they'll most likely market the console as - 4K. Give me a break. Consoles are meant to get cheaper as the years pass, not get jacked the hell up in price. Funny how people will complain about Xbox One at launch for $500 but yet, no one is complaining about the higher price here? Makes no sense.
Sony would also be alienating their entire 40m consumer install base while at the same time, trying to build a user base for the stronger PS4 which at the same time, divides the entire user base. That makes no sense whatsoever. PS4 is on pace to surpass the number one all time console in PS2. WTF would anyone at Sony think it's a smart idea to take a chance on screwing that up??? Even Xbox One is outselling Xbox 360.
This is nothing but Sony trying to screw over consumers yet again just like Microsoft tried to do three years ago and like Sony tried to do a decade ago with PS3 after their success with PS2. Eventually, people get pissed off, say **** off and move on.
With all the rumors (which seem to be real) going around, this will also hurt their sales for the next six months including the holiday season. Add in the fact that they would also be stuck with warehouses full of current PS4 models and I simply don't see this as a benefit to anyone.
As for games themselves, sorry but it has NOTHING to do with the consoles power or lack there of. It's ALL on the publishers to give their developers time to fully optimize the game to run and play at it's best come launch. Not the consoles fault when greedy *** publishers want to rush out their games even though they should be delayed six months. Hell, consoles power or lack there of has nothing to do with the simple fact that the majority of games this gen have come out six months earlier than they should have.
The consoles are perfectly fine. As for a game like MLB The Show, maybe if it wasn't on a nine month developmental cycle, maybe they would hit 1080P and 60FPS. Of course, unless it's a FPS, 60FPS is actually worse than 30FPS in terms to how the game will look. It simply doesn't always look right. Not to mention the fact that it's a baseball game. Not a huge open world RPG.
To each their own but if Sony does this, I truly believe that it will backfire because the normal consumer will just look at it as a money hungry greedy egomaniac type move from a billion dollar company who in the end, doesn't give a damn about any of the consumers who buy their products.
Maybe I'll be right, maybe I'll be wrong but I won't be part of the group that makes me wrong and give in when I just bought a new PS4. Bad enough nowadays, you have to constantly update the damn thing and trade it in because there's always problems with it and you think it's going to crap out on you but PS4.5 would be even worse.
Sony does this and I hope PS4 doesn't sell crap, they screw themselves and people cancel their VR's as well because quite honestly, trying to pull this crap, they would deserve it.Comment
