I used to play while listening to music when i was younger. Now, after years playing music and games, and learning how to appreciate games and their music at another level (for example, how the music integrates with the gameplay or atmosphere), I just can't play without listening to the game's musics.



The only exception are sports games (racing games included) and fighting games. I normally play them while listening to gaming podcasts and some music.

Uh yeah....some music in games will drive you insane. Fallout 4 radio was about to make me go quite mad until I started using Spotify instead. And the cool thing is with Spotify is I can play music from the time period and be in the same style as Fallouts actual music without having to listen to the same stuff again and again and again.

I just did this... Fingers crossed. However, if this isn't the end all be all for my problem, is there anyone out there who had this problem and now no longer do? It didn't occur for me until last night after I downloaded software update 3.50 and I've had same system since day one release.

If you've been considering a hard drive upgrade I'd consider doing it now if this doesn't fix it. It's possible your drive is corrupted. You could install a bigger, newer SSD/Hybrid drive and reinstall and hopefully that fixes it.

I actually already have a hard drive upgrade in it but maybe I should put the old one back in?

If you still have your original I'd try it...then you'd at least know what the issue is.

Shadow of Mordor got auto ejected 4 times on me last night. First time playing since the database restore, I was able to play SOM for 45 minutes no problem. Hoping this fixed it.

That's good, I'd try a bunch of different games EXCEPT mordor and once you're satisified they are all ok, then try mordor, maybe there's just something wrong with that disc if it does eject and none of the others didn't..

The that disc issue might be legit cuz I've had that happen to me with Madden 16 disc last fall/winter... Would auto eject every now and then.

I've played The Division for about 28 hours now and it's never ejected on me... And been playing The Show as well and no ejects.

BUT I'm gonna be super pissed if I just jinxed myself!

I've dealt with the auto eject months after release and tried all the fixes that has been suggested on the internet. It isn't a software issue, it just happened to be a coincidence that yours started when you update. The only thing that worked well for me (still happened once or twice though) was opening up the ps4 and scratching the gold plate that rests by where the eject button resides. You can either put electrical tape (this will render the physical use of the button useless though) or scratch it a few times.

I have posted my frustrations about this here about a year ago that I dealt with it multiple times and even had it happen on 3 separate PS4's. It's a common issue with the launch consoles. The scratch fix mostly fixed my problems, but it has came back once or twice within the last year. I can live with that considering it used to happen 3 or 4 times a day which helped me move to all digital.

Spotify integration was a major selling point for me. The actual PS4 Spotify app sucks, so controlling from your phone/iPad/etc is key.

Yeah, the PS4 app definitely leaves a lot of features to be desired. Good thing that the remote controls are so good.

I swear, I learn so much just reading thru this thread.

I am nowhere near tech savvy but reading through this thread, I'm learning all kinds of things that my PS4 can do that I would've never imagined when I bought it, or at least never would've attempted to use because I didn't know how.

Here's one for you CB... I can actually control Spotify on my PS4 using my smart watch. By just simply flicking my wrist!

Is that pretty easy to set up? I have an iPad and not sure if compatible, a Galaxy S6 as well. I agree with the PS4 app being far from ideal.

Yes, all you have to do is download the Spotify app and sign in (you'll have to make an account if you don't have one).

Then you can browse and play any music/playlists you like, once selected, there will be an option in the bottom middle of the screen that says "Devices Available". Select that and if your PS4 is on it will show it, click and it should connect.

Boom, you can play Spotify on your PS4 while controlling from your phone/iPad.

Yeah, basically I explained it to someone the other day as "its the same as using a regular music player app but the sound comes out of your PS4 instead of the ipad."

I use Spotify every day. Being able to control it through the phone while playing PS4 has been amazing for me.
