True but that was before they included the Xbox brand into the hardware aspect of the company. Now, even if Xbox loses money, it won't matter because hardware will always be at a profit and thus, no one would know for certain if Xbox is losing money.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
If true, Neo being $450 will be a tough sell in my opinion. The minimal upgrade does not warrant a current price increase of $100. Personally, Sony should just release it at $350 and eliminate the current model.
As for Scorpio, I see the price being $400 as costs will decrease by late 2017 and it's Microsoft who have no problem taking losses on the console. Unlike Sony with PlayStation, Microsoft can take greater risks because they're so much more as a company where as Sony is pretty much betting everything on the PlayStation brand.
Will be interesting for sure and releasing Neo this October along side PSVR is a risky move in my opinion as you don't want one overshadowing the other.
If NEO is 450 and less powerful then Scorpio that wouldnt make any sinces at all. I have seen a lot of hate towards the NEO becuase it looks like it is most likely going to be a lot less powerful then Scopio but power is not ever thing. If NEO is less powerful but comes out a year before Scopio and is cheaper how much will that power difference really be? Also lets say if NEO is 400 and Scorpio is 500 and NEO comes out a year before Scorpio then by the time Scopio comes out Sony could maybe lower the NEO down to 350 and then be 150 cheaper then Scorpio by the time they are both out. What about a ps4 slim? I have not really heard much about that. I am starting to wonder if maybe we will see a ps4 slim this year to compete with xbox slim and then maybe the NEO next year to go toe to toe with the Scorpio. Be interesting to see where the NX lands in comparson to those 2. Is the NX going to be more powerful then NEO but less powerful then Scorpio? Is it going to be less powerful then both and more at the normal xboxone/ps4 power? Is it going to cost less then xboxone/Scorpio/Ps4/NEO?Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Why would Microsoft willingly lose money for an updated Xbox One? This isn't next gen. How many people are really going to buy another console just for 4K? I will but most people don't have 4K TVs.MLB: Texas Rangers

We most likely haven't heard about a PS4 Slim because the PS4 is already slim... :-PComment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Sony is not going to release NEO for anything less then 450
It is not just a small bump in performance, but it also includes a UHDBR player which in itself cost 400 to 500
The Neo being 100 more then standard ps4 is fine and a good price for what you are getting
They wont get rid of vanilla ps4 until at least 2 more years or more as not all have 4K tvs and that console still sells well at 350Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I agree about Neo price. My money (literally and figuratively) is on it launching at 450. Can't wait to find out for sure either way
Also, performance wise it basically doubles the GPU power. That's pretty significant. I disagree with Daniel's take on it being minimal, and on top of that I believe the final specs will be even higher anyway. That's just my personal hunch, I have no idea what is gonna happen for sure.
If the Scorpio launches for less than 550 I will be pretty shocked.
Either way, it's gonna be awesome having more power on both sides.Last edited by The JareBear; 07-22-2016, 12:22 PM."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I've decided that I'm gonna hold off on buying the Xbox One S and just keep my original, I'm also gonna go all PS4 from here on out until at least the Scorpio or just for the X1 exclusives.
I'm a sucker for having the best tech and the Neo Specs are sweet. I'm excited to pre-order whenever we can.

Same here I'm getting both. $450 is fine with me for the NEO. I have no problem with that. I think if the Scorpio is over $550 it'll hurt them a lot.

If Scorpio is 550 or more I think that is going to hurt it a lot. Isn't Scorpio 4 times has strong has xboxone? That is like a new gen really. How much more powerful then the normal ps4 is that? Isn't the NEO 2 times has strong has the normal ps4 if the rumors about it are true?Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
It could always be smaller and considering ps3 and ps2 both got a slim I don't see why this one wouldn't and the ps2 slim is incredibly small compared to like any systems really. Right now ps4 is about the same size has the slim ps3 was.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
That is most likely the only way I would get one. I already have a ps4 and buying systems and games cost a lot of money and I don't like this mid gen thing its to much like PC. I think Sony would be better off wanting and doing ps5 come 2018-19 and same thing with Microsoft even though the Scorpio is basically a new system with how much more powerful it is then xboxone. I don't have a 4k TV yet either and I will most likely not have one for a few years and in till I am moved out on my own. I am 27 still at home and I have a 37 inch TV. I would like to get a like 50-60 inch 4K TV but with my room any thing above about 40 would most likely not be good for your eyes with how close I am to the TV. Also even if it has a 4k bluray player those movies cost a lot right now compared to regular blurays.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Yeah I guess the more I think about it, maybe the Scorpio does launch for 500 or less.
If the power difference between NEO and Scorpio is as rumored, which again I have no idea what is gonna end up happening, but if the RUMORED specs are true, the Scorpio is obviously pretty significantly more powerful than NEO and in that case I would have to think Sony keeps it 75-100 dollars less than whatever the Scorpio is.
For the record I know nothing about business, merchandising, etc. I am just guessing as a guy who loves to spend money on cool stuff, lol. I could be way off"Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."
