So it was about a month and 3 weeks from the time Xboxone slim was shown to the time it came out. If the same thing happends with NEO that would mean it would come out around october 25th.

Here's something interesting -

PS2 Slim was announced in September 2004 and released in October 2004.
PS3 Slim was announced on August 18th, 2009 and released on September 1st, 2009.
PS3 Super Slim was announced on September 19th, 2012 and released on September 25th, 2012.

Granted, Neo isn't the slim but with games that release starting October 1st being required to have a Neo mode on the disc/digital download, it would make more sense to release Neo a few days before October 1st so im changing my prediction from October 11th to September 27th.

Here's something interesting -

PS2 Slim was announced in September 2004 and released in October 2004.
PS3 Slim was announced on August 18th, 2009 and released on September 1st, 2009.

Granted, Neo isn't the slim but with games that release starting October 1st being required to have a Neo mode on the disc/digital download, it would make more sense to release Neo a few days before October 1st so im changing my prediction from October 11th to September 27th.

That is fast to have it shown on the 7th and then already out on september 27th. When it comes to the 1st being required to have a NEO mode I heard people say that but isnt that just a rumor? I havnt heard Sony say any thing like that before just people. I didnt realize how close the ps4 superslim was announced to when it came out and same with ps3 slim. I got a ps3 slim becuase my first ps3 60 GB got the YLOD. Really i didnt notice how close all of those where shown to when they came out. So yeah maybe this will be very fast. You dont really need a lot of time to get people hyped for a slim or the NEO like you do if this was ps5 or something. I have to think that Sony is going to show a ps4 slim has well. With xboxone pricess going down and with there being a xboxone slim if sony dosnt do something soon its sales are going to start slipping. I really wonder how much smaller the ps4 slim could be. Ps4 is already about the same size has a ps3 slim but still a lot bigger then say a ps2 slim. ps2 slim was so small. I am going to guess we get a ps4 slim for 300 and 2 versions of a NEO for 400 and 450. 400 for a 1 TB hard drive and 450 for a 2 TB hard drive. I know I know xboxone slim 2 TB cost 400 and NEO is stronger but you also have to remember that xboxone slim 2 TB hard drive version cost only 324 to make. So you could kind of say they are over charging for it. So i could see Sony having a 2 TB one that cost like 450-475 to make but where they charge people what it cost to make or even take a small loss. Now if that is true and it cost 450 to make that would be 126 more to make compared to the xboxone slim. For 126 more I think you could get a lot better specs with that kind of money.

Announcing a slim PS4 is just overkill to me. Neo should be their focus for the PlayStation Meeting. If they show both then what they're doing is worse than what Microsoft did at E3, especially if they release around the same time. Now, if either were to be delayed to early 2017, then there would be no point in mentioning it in September. PSX could be used for this situation or a PlayStation event in early 2017.

Sony shouldn't even bother with the slim unless it was coming out a year or more head of Neo and that I don't see that happening. No reason for the slim. PS4 is small enough and why would Sony still have the base PS4, slim, Neo and PSVR all at the same time? That's too much. Way too much. Not to mention the fact that their focus would be split across all four and with PSVR releasing on October 13th, that should be their main focus. Everything else should be secondary.

Price wise, I see the base PS4 drop to $300 with Neo 500GB at $400. I don't think that Sony will go higher than $400 unless it's a special bundle like maybe GT Sport or FFXV. Also, with the base at $300 and Neo at $400, where would a PS4 slim even fit in?

Sony needs to be very careful. They don't want to announce so much at the same time and then go on to confuse everyone in the process.

Right but we dont even know if those leakes things where real or not. I would be surprised if Sony dosnt increase the GB or the system. Yes I know you can do that your self but it is nice to just have for spaces from the start and with ever game having to be on the hard drive now 500 GB is not much at all. Yeah I am sure we are going to hear about the NEO on september 7th but we could also maybe hear about a slim then to. But it is also close to Tokyo game show but isnt sony skipping Tokyo game show this year? I think what Micorsoft did would be worse becuase Scorpio dosnt even come out for over a year. So they annonce a slim only to take away the Hype from that with the Scorpio. I am wondering are we going to get like any video game news worth talking about at all during gamerscom because E3, Tokyo game show are already much more popular then gamerscom? Not only that but we now have sony doing this before gamerscom and Sony also has there playstaion thing in december they started 2 years ago and also sounds like Nintendo is going to do a special random day for the NX. So whats left for gamerscom?

Increasing the hard drive space also increases the price and I think that it would be better to release at $400 with 500GB as opposed to $450 or higher with 1TB or more. The slim and Neo could in theory cancel each other depending on when they get released. As far as I know, Sony is skipping Gamescom in regards to having a press conference but will most likely be at TGS. Sony would be stupid to skip TGS. They have a lot of Japanese games that they can show off. Difference though between Slim and Scorpio is that the Scorpio was about 18 months away when they announced it at E3. Doesn't matter if the Slim took away the hype or whatnot from Scorpio because of the 15 or so month difference between the Slim being released and Scorpio. Besides, things are different when you're in second place as opposed to first place. If released at the same time, Neo would overshadow the PS4 Slim. Why buy a Slim when on the same day or close to it, you can buy a Neo? Huge difference between being released at the same time compared to a 15 month gap.

Yeah, PS4 can get smaller but does it really need a Slim? I don't think that it does. There not being any rumors about a PS4 Slim makes me think if it happens, it will be next year. Agree in regards to them releasing the different hard drive variations at the same time.

Gamescom is actually pretty big. Sony skips it because it's too close to E3 so no reason to have a press conference. Don't really know why Microsoft is not having a press conference this year but at the same time, they will both have games at the event. Sony is heavily and mainly PSVR focused. TGS is different because of the culture and the games that will be shown. PSX is mainly a fan event. It's not meant to be an E3 or anything. Any surprises at PSX is basically just an added bonus.

Think of it being exactly like the PC is now. Same game, different hardware has different performance deltas.

And September 7th will show Neo. Confirmed by many who have concrete sources. Another possible unveiling is Playstation Now on the PC.

I'm not hating on them for the service.....it's all about me man. I would just hope they put their efforts in a service with current gen games. I understand that they have it and will continue to support it because it's profitable for them.

PlayStation 4 Discussion

Asking people to pay to rent games they may already own is a tough sell especially now that the other platform has backwards compatibility for a lot of games. It's obviously targeted at people that don't have a ps3, or even a playstation 4.

I like the service. Just hoping they do another deal like they did last year. I don't really want to buy games for the ps3 anymore. I also think my ps3 is near death.

Adding PC support would be a nice addition.
