While I understand that but you can already do HDR now with the regular ps4 because they added that and playing games already cost a lot of money. Spending 400 or so ever 5 years and paying 60 for each game and I am not made of money. Having to spend 400 like ever 3 years is to much and to much like PC. I just think it would have been better to want 2-3 years and have a ps5 with full 4k for 400. I am wondering how this gen is going to go now. Last gen lasted like 2 years longer then normal and I remember hearing developers saying that it lasted to long and didn't have enough memory for the systems going forward. So because of that I figured we would be back to the normal 5-6 year gen. Now with this I am not so sure. I mean if Sony where to come out just 2 years after this with a ps5 that may make people really mad but at the same time if they want 3 years for ps5 so 2019 that would give Scorpio 2 years being a much more powerful system then Sony and I don't know if Sony would want to give them a 2 year head start like that.

I understand what you're saying, but you can just stick to the PS4 and be fine. Me on the other hand I'd like to have the latest to get the better experience. Personally, I don't have any issues with the mid cycle upgraded consoles. To be frank, I felt like console generations lasted too long since after a few years the specs are very outdated.

I understand what you're saying, but you can just stick to the PS4 and be fine. Me on the other hand I'd like to have the latest to get the better experience. While tech is always outdated because it is always changing but I think 5-6 years is better because then the graphic jump is going to be bigger then if it is just a new console in 3 years and how do we know they will not go even more extreme and have new systems ever 2 years going forward or maybe even a new console ever year? like how you can get a new graphics card for PC ever year if you want to.

If the system they're offering isn't good enough, then don't buy it. What do new systems have to do with anything? You've gotta decide what you want and go for it, if you're chasing the latest tech worried about what may come out in 2 years you'll never get anything.

Your PS4 still does what they advertised it to do when they sold it to you right? Did you buy a PS4 for 4K? No, you bought it for 1080P, so why now that they can offer a better choice is that a problem? It's not a downgrade for your system, it's an upgrade for others.

Why the 12th? I'm getting mine on the 10th which is release day. If you wait until the 12th it will probably already be obsolete!

The specs are outdated when they were released. Even these refreshes aren't close to cutting edge at all.

That being said if people feel like spending their money on it, more power to them. The ps4 pro is something I get to entirely ignore because it's pretty useless at best for me and then I get to pick up a Scorpio because it plays 4k video.

With a 4K TV and PSVR the PS4 Pro is very usefull to me.
I also will like finally getting a 1TB HDD. I'm still rolling with 500GB Lol

Once we have some solid info about the Scorpio I'l start to decide yes or no on purchasing it.
I already gave away my XBOX Elite to daughter as it was just a dust collector for me.
More than likely though the PS4 Pro will hold me over until PS5.

I plan to grab a good 4K player within the next few months (Holiday deal hopefully) . I stream more than watch disk these days so that gives time for the 4K disks to drop in price a bit.

The ps4 pro is something I get to entirely ignore because it's pretty useless at best for me.

So easy choice for you right there, it's a no purchase.

You're both good to go, solid choices by each of you. There is no wrong or right choice, there's just your choice whichever it may be. Either decision is a solid one.


As for myself, I'm def getting the Pro day one to go along with my Slim.

I finished paying off the Pro and will throw in the SSD Samsung 520gb that I have and be happy with the Pro that will have excellent load speeds with SATA3 and games that will run at higher resolution and FPS over PS4 base.

That is enough to be excited about.

The XB1 S is my MS console because it allows me to play games in HDR from MS side and play 4K blur ray movies that I started to buy because there is no comparison between streaming 4K to media 4K with HDR

Next fall the Scorpio will replace the One S and I will have the best from Sony and MS

Cant ask for more then that really

Sony announces two new PS4 controllers esp for eSports...these look awesome. Competition for the Xbox One Elite Controller?

My question is, are these wired only or are the wires shown optional??

Those controllers look cool. I will probably check both of them out.

I can't answer your question with 100 percent certainty but I would think they would have bluetooth support along with the USB-wired connectivity.
