Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
Looking for assistance.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This is my current AV receiver. With the need to pass through 4K and HDR to the KS8000, the HDMI from the PS4 Pro will have to go directly to the TV. Then, I'll have to use the optical audio out from the Pro to the receiver, thereby losing the Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD audio.
Are there any workarounds I'm not thinking of, besides having to replace the receiver at some point? Anyone else in the same boat?
Run the PS4 directly to the tv and then connect your receiver to the tv's HDMI ARC port. It'll automatically send all sound to the receiver and the receiver will output 5.1 sound.

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
However, I just found this on avsforum "But keep in mind that ARC is limited to 5.1 audio just like optical. It can't send HD Audio (DTS-MS, Dolby TrueHD, etc). The only advantage of ARC is that it eliminates the optical cable. ARC is also associated with CEC (both are HDMI mediated) and there are lots of issues with CEC which can carryover to ARC."PSN Username = FinsUp75Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
The difference between 60 and 30 is so small its not even funny. I wish the whole 60 vs 30 FPS thing could be outlawed and not aloud to be talked about. The whole 60 FPS thing is so grossly overrated and I get so sick of hearing about something that is hard to even notice the difference.
30fps WITH interpolation yeah ok its pretty decent but by iteslef is BADBrand New Tomba Slider sets ready for Next Gen Versions of NBA,Madden and Fifa Stay Tuned...Comment

DriveClub would be a much better game with 60 fps. Play a racing game with 60 fps and then go to a 30 fps racing game. When people talk about how fluid and responsive a game is, it's directly related to its frame rate.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
I'm almost afraid to post this but this is my receiver that I bought in 2012, will it need to be replaced to utilize all of the features of the PS4 Pro?
EDIT: it says the HDMI is 1.4 so I presume I'm screwed. What would you guys recommend that I do then, just send the video directly to the HDMI and bypass my a/v receiver for video? Then use an optical feed to my receiver input?Last edited by ODogg; 11-14-2016, 03:26 PM.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

yup....either get a new receiver or plug console to tv directly and use optical from receiver to pro
You lose the high codecs but that is more for blu ray moviesComment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
So my Samsung KS8000 55 inch TV I should have on sat. Order Rise of the tomb Raider cost 40 after the BB games thing and have a 2 TB hard drive on the way was down to about 22GB. Also have a 20 PSN card on the way has I still need to buy like one last track DLC for drive club and I have been meaning to get Infamous first light still need to beat second son. I don't think i am going to play Rise of the tomb raider in till I get the new tv. I have not had any time to play video games in about 3 weeks because of work, school and trying to keep up on sports. Have 4 games on my DVR right now and just got home from school and going to watch a game and then do some home work. Sat after I get my TV I think I am then going to go play basketball and let my stuff redownload while I am gone playing basketball for a hour or so onto my hard drive and then when I get back home set the TV up. I know it is going to take me hours and hours to redownload ever thing onto the hard drive maybe even days but if I start doing it while I am playing basketball then I can at least have some games back on to it by the time I am back home.Comment

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion
That is just how I fell I cant tell the difference and I have seen a lot of things on the internet that shows that a lot of people can not tell the difference either. The whole 60 FPS thing is just talked about way to much and it gets very annoying. There are way more important things when it comes to games then 60 FPS and I believe from what I have seen and heard that if you where to have a video of a game with one side being 60 and the other side of the screen showing 30 with out any thing saying which side is which that about 95% of the time people would have no idea if the left or right is the 60 or the 30. I would take a game at 4k locked 30 fps any day over 1080p at 60 FPS or even 1440p and 30 or 1080p and 60. I don't play on PC so I cant comment on like 120 fps but 60 or 30 is basically the same.Last edited by Smallville102001; 11-14-2016, 07:25 PM.Comment
