Well, just got our tax return numbers and I'm happy (we're not paying) with it. Looking at a 4K TV, but don't want to break the bank either, as the wife and I would like to also use part of the return on a vacation. Can I get a good 4K TV for under $1,000?

Certainly will also be looking at getting a Pro system as well.

We have a Vizio we paid about $700 for (55 inch). Very happy with it 4K video wise. But I don't think it has the HDR everyone talks about.

How big of a TV are you looking for? When I got my 55 inch Samsung ks8000 tv about mid November it was about 1100 after tax. Right now it is about 1150 plus tax on amazon so a little more then 1000. At best buy the ks8500 that is the one that is curved version is 1100 and on amazon 1098 plus tax. Not sure if a curve would be for you or not and normally the curve is more not less then the one that is not curved.

Not sure if a curve would be for you or not and normally the curve is more not less then the one that is not curved.

50-60 inch range, and I'm personally not a big fan of curved screens.

I got a 55-inch LG (55UH6150) for $700 last summer. It's usually on sale in that price range at BB. It's not HDR but has a Deep Color mode that the Pro recognizes as HDR. It's not top of the line but I've been very happy with it.

The model that's advertised as being HDR is about $400 more typically.

Edit: Supposedly it does support HDR even though that wasn't advertised with it.

Got a 43" Sony X800D for just over $700 a few months ago. I think the 49" was $900

After using Vue for months, I cancelled my subscription. Loss of Viacom channels hurt the value for us.

Anyone have any issues with games pre loading before the game releases? I pre ordered my copy of Ghost recon on PSN and always kept my ps4 pro on rest mode. I had to go and manually download it now and have to wait forever for it to download. This is annoying.

I also have the Sony X800D 43 inch 4K HDR TV. It cost me $650 plus tax so like Jr said, just over $700. For the price range and size, it's the best 4K HDR TV available. The only 4K HDR TV that is said to be better is the Samsung KS8000 but I didn't want to spend double.

The 49 inch has an external power brick and an IPS panel. According to rtings.com, the panel on the 43 inch is better simply because the 49 inch is closer to the X700D series but with a wide color gamut. For HDR gaming, the 43 inch is better.

The Sony X800D is an excellent TV and while the peak brightness is low due to it being only 350 nits max, you wouldn't know it when looking at the screen. Horizon for example looks absolutely stunning.

For the size, price and capabilities, you can't go wrong with the X800D. Of course, it depends on what you're looking for and how much money you're willing to spend.

I had that problem until I set my pro as my primary system. Make sure your system is set as your primary system
