I always turn it off anyways because it's more of an annoyance than anything to me.
As long as gaming is smooth online I'm happy.
I agree w you Sky, I don't like notifications . They are screen clutter to me,

Well, I need to corrct YOU now.
I've done temp and decibel checks on both systems. MY XBOne runs hotter and louder compared to MY PS4.

I posted my experience, like people are supposed to do in this thread. So how you could correct me on MY experience is beyond ridiculous.

As for Skype being better on a big screen.... I already have my PC hooked up to one of the TV's soooo. But I guess it useful for people who don't have that setup.

Something must have been wrong with my launch ps4 from the beginning... As soon as I start playing a game it sounds like an airplane taking off... Xbox is quiet for me... Strange...

Gotta laugh at this one Odogg sorry. So a small rectangle in the upper right or left hand corner that tells you when your buddies log on is screen clutter? There's no excuse for this not to be available at this point.

Not only did I say it from my own personal experience, but the reviewers and comparisons agree with me also. I apologize if me correcting your inaccuracies is ridiculous. Check out the link below and give me your feedback. Check out the YouTube video on that site showing the tests they did.

For me it's simply annoying. Some people just don't like that stuff man. Glad it was an option to turn off on 360.
Again.. it will probably be an option eventually but if it never comes some , like me, could care less.

That's why having multiple systems is nice as each person can get the one that matches what they want
Now if only we had choices in an NFL game....

I like the notifications. I just have them come up for a certain few people though. It would get annoying it it was done for every friend I have.

I agree that having notifications pop up constantly while playing can get annoying, but give us the options at least. On the one I have it set up where I get it from only my favorites so that helps with that. As far as Choices with NFL game that would be a dream again. At this point it might only be a dream lol..

I have notifications of friends turned off, but it seems like for a pure gaming system you'd want that ability (since a lot of pure gamers are social/online focused)...in the past I loved it on 360, but i'm primarily a single player guy now.

I have a PS4 for true gaming, and a Wii U for family games. My Xbox One basically is being used as a filler in my AV cabinet. I don't think I've turned it on since Madden was released and my CFM on the X1 crumbled. I disagree with features. Remote play, share play, Vita integration, PlayStation App, etc all rival the X1 and are arguably better. The PlayStation may run a bit louder, but it hasn't broken yet, where my xbox did, and I have surround sound on or a headset so I can't hear it anyways. Hands down the PS4 his generation in my opinion.

Heh, one thing is for sure, whenever Sony adds the notifications for people logging on they better copy the favorites functionality or offer something similar to what's on the Xbox One.

Why not just sell the Xboxone if it's just going to be used as "filler" on a shelf?

                              Me: 90% Offline - 10% Online.
I consider myself a pure gamer and online could go away forever and I'd be ok.
Just don't prefer online much at all so like you I'm a SP person for the most part.

So getting to a tense moment and have "Friend1" is online" pop up just screws it up....
Again though the option for those who would want it would be great as long as you could turn it off.

Well for one (At least for me) when I do get one (if I do) it will be for MS exclusives I can't play anywhere else. SO the "filler" would be when I want to play those exclusives.
PS4 would get all cross platform games.

Everyone is different so just give options on both to fullfill the needs of everyone as far as "extras" outside of games.

Oh, I 100% agree. More know that when I was way more online vs. offline it was cool to know that so and so popped into Wolfenstein or RB6 or something so I might switch games....
