    Re: Retro Console/Game Collecting Thread

Went to our favorite place in Florence, KY yesterday. Not a good trip. It seems that in the few months since the last time we were there he has raised his prices, which isn't a good thing. I have two retro stores within 30 minutes of me, to not drive 90+ minutes to Florence. Only thing I snagged was Fire Pro Wrestling on the PS2 for $9. Game is hard to find, at least in my area so I grabbed it.

I thought I had found a gem when I saw they had a Slim 500GB White PS3. Asked to look at it and not only did it have chocolate stains on the controller and system (I hope it was chocolate), the case was cracked. WTF?! And they wanted $150 for it!!! Absolutely nuts.

The guy we normally talk to wasn't there as I would've loved to have picked his brain over the change in quality and pricing. Two guys working back there were absolutely clueless.

    Frustrating.

      Retro Console/Game Collecting Thread

I still have my 20 GB PS3 and I just brought it back out to play some NCAA. It’s super weird not having WiFi on it. I wish that game would work on the PS4. It’s weird going back between the 2 controllers.

The DS3 is really uncomfortable compared to the DS4.

Picked up a 60 GB backwards compatible PS3 today. Paid $120 which I thought was fair. Only issue is the power cord has electrical tape on it where he said his pup chewed on it years ago. Still works with power cord, but I have one from my original that died so I'll use that.

            So excited.

Great minds think alike! I just picked one up from A&C Games in Toronto. I think I paid $150 CAD.

I also ordered a special cooling fan off ebay which I plan on installing. I'm a little worried that this PS3 will get the YLOD.

                    AC Adapter sold separately.

And I'm assuming you can't pop PS1 discs in there.

Wow...what kind of crap is that. A ploy to get people to buy their $20 add on later?

I have a PC near my TV that I can plug into, assuming the provided USB is long enough, but that's pretty ridiculous imo.

Preordered it this morning, but I may cancel and wait now. I read that the SNES classic was originally released without one but later shipments included the adapter. Maybe Sony will do the same.

I think any AC/USB adapter will work so doesn’t need to plug into a computer. I have a couple extra iphone ones laying around so that’s what I’m going to use.

When I first saw this announcement I thought it was a joke! Nonetheless it’s pretty cool and I’ll be picking one up.

Hopefully Crash, Spyro, Twisted Metal will make it on. Would be awesome if we saw third party titles like Tony Hawk but not holding my breath.

I don't. I wouldn't even consider myself an OCD type that gets rid of all clutter, but I don't really keep adapters that aren't directly associated with another electronic that I use. It is kind of surprising to me that anyone would just keep spare ones laying around when every other electronic that you purchase would come with it's own.

Regardless of whether you have an extra one or not. Given that the most realistic form of playing for most people will imo be through a plug in, isn't it kind of an odd to not include it?
