Re: Gaming Monitor discussion
Quick heads up - I saw this monitor in Costco for $399:
It's not showing up on the Costco website, but they had just got them in. In any case, I got it home and tried it back to back with the LG 27UK650, and frankly size wins out. I thought 32" would be too big, but it's pretty sweet with the PS4 Pro, the only downside is the lack of HDR.
I'm debating which to keep, basically same price, one of them is going back.
Also - on initial setup there was quite a bit of flickering, Samsung included a bad HDMI cable with the monitor. I swapped it to the LG, same issue. Replaced cable, issue gone.Comment

Re: Gaming Monitor discussion
It's being used as an office/work monitor 80% of the time, so that's something to keep in mind. More real estate is nice. I'm just debating if 32" is too big sitting 2' away for work. I have a few more days to assess before I have to take the LG back to Best Buy or vice versa.Comment

Re: Gaming Monitor discussion
I don't know, I compared it back to back with the LG, and here's the thing. I'm in an office in my house, it's not super bright. I believe the LG does produce the colors more accurately, but after some tweaking the Samsung looks pretty comparable to be honest. It may help that it's obviously larger and curved. The majority of the time I'm playing PS4 Pro will be at night in a dark room and I actually have to turn the brightness down.

Re: Gaming Monitor discussion
What is everyone's opinion on a good ultrawide gaming monitor? I saw the CHG on sale for under $1000 and it looks great to me. Only 1080p but I'm also a text-sim gamer and do a lot of graphic design so the screen real-estate would be great. And is it possible to have a console on one side of that screen and the CPU/laptop on another side?PSN / Xbox GT - BLUEnYELLOW28Comment

Keep in mind that with 1440p you'll have more real estate on screen than a 1080p panel which is huge for productivity.
As for split screen, I'm not sure, I have never tried it. Might be a specific feature for a specific monitor.

Re: Gaming Monitor discussion
Ended up getting this instead:
Whew, I had no idea a monitor could make this much difference in a how a game looks/feels.

I game on a 60 HZ 4K monitor that works fine for PS4, but sometimes I wish I had a 144HZ monitor for my PC. I've had to lock some games like The Witcher 3 at 60 to prevent some screen tearing issues. 4K sounds nice, but the more I've played the more I appreciate frame rate more.Comment

Re: Gaming Monitor discussion
I think you made the right choice. The first one was 4K, but only 60HZ.
