If HDR is important to you then stick to tvs....if performance and great motion handling is important to you and better pixel density due to smaller screen then this monitor in HDR is awesome

am enjoying the monitor in SDR...brightness is great and colors amazing

I am also interested in the Dell new 1440p monitor with HDR and that nit level is 600 nits and colors and contrast are better than LG but is 1440p

It does take 4k signal and downsamples so good for ps4 pro and x but no free sync....HDR on that set is much better even if fake hdr

best buy has both monitors...dell one is 400 and lg is 350

Yea man, there’s definitely a blue push and there’s nothing you can do about it on HDR. Like you said I believe this is a great monitor for SDR content, but my OLED has me spoiled and it doesn’t even come close. I prefer a more accurate warmer picture than a blueish picture. For SDR it’s great like you said.

Your monitor is no different than ours except it has a stand that goes up and down that is the only difference. For 100 more dollars it is not worth it to me at least

If you want a realistic color tone to a picture then most professional isf calibrators go for 6500k reference which is mostly achieved in warm 1 or warm 2 on tvs

This is where you see Cool, Normal, Warm 1 and warm 2. Most average customers think cool is superb because human eyes are attracted to that but that is terrinble for the eyes. The fact that fake HDR on this monitor takes away the ability to correct that bluish tint to make it warm kills hdr for me

SDR you can make it warmer in custom image setting and it looks amazing.

Madden in SDR looks so good and fluid on this monitor it is hard to play it on anything else.

I have the samsung q8fn and lg oled b7

I prefer to game on the monitor due to 9.5 ms input lag and superior motion handling and brightness

nothing tops tvs that are high end like OLED or Qled for movie watching

Sure gaming is more immersive in big screens but I prefer better motion handling and really low input lag

21 ms of lag on my oled is great, my samsung is 19 but my lg monitor is 9.5 and is a huge difference to me

          Re: Gaming Monitor discussion

Got the lg 27uk850-w in today and its pretty good but not my favorite monitor. Connected my gaming laptop, macbook pro and ps4 pro to it and it looks great. Definitely glad i went with this since I can connect all 3 at the same time and its perfect for living in a small space.

Played Madden on pc and it looks great but would rather play it on my 34" ultrawide 1440p monitor. You get so spoiled when you play in high refresh rates and wide viewing angle.

For pc gaming today, I definitely would go 1440p ultrawide or 27" (IPS panel)with 165hz over 4k 60hz anyday but this is a great monitor for console gaming and mac users. Definitely faster response time from my tv so playing fast games has been a lot more enjoyable. Also text is super sharp so definitely enjoyed that. Next thing I'll work on is photo and video editing which I'm sure it will be great on.

I’m thinking about getting a monitor for 4K gaming that has HDR for my PS4 pro. I like BenQ and I know they have a 4K HDR monitor. Do you guys have any other suggestions. I thinking of spending around $500. I’m okay with 24” or 28” for size. Thanks for any suggestions. I like have low response time as well.

So what's the final verdict on the LG 27UK600 as far as settings are concerned (I also snagged one when it was $130 off at BB)

                    Custom(Game) default for non-HDR titles?

HDR Vivid or HDR Game for those that do support it?

I use HDR Game for everything. I need to play around with the settings a little more for non- HDR games.

I returned mine until monitors come with higher nits for HDR, but HDR standard looked the best to me when I had it. HDR vivid the colors were too off. I wish his monitor allowed us to make changes to the HDR picture.

I understand the Nits thing, I think the monitor is like 450 nits, which is fine with me. Honest I'm not getting wrapped up in to much of the Nits stuff, I'm very happy with my this monitor. Games looks Awesome. I'm getting to old to be wrapped up in all the Nits HDR stuff, if it looks good to me thats all that matters to me.

Damn Art, you be buying and returning a lot LOL

Yea imo 1000 nits would be way to bright for the proximity you are sitting when it comes to gaming on a monitor, there’s a range for HDR for a reason and it depends on more then just a locked in number it has to be or else it’s not legit imo

Yeah I agree with Royal, its more than bright enough. Imagine sitting upclose to your tv like you would a monitor, that **** would mess up my eyes. I really love this monitor, I just got spoiled with how smooth a 100-165 hz screen can do. Input lag has greatly improved and playing games like Madden and the Show are super noticeable compared to a tv.

Agreed, sports games have been such a pleasure to play on this monitor . The show plays and looks amazing. Again I’m very happy . No complaints this way.
