One thing that makes me wonder if consoles will ever die is the fact that PC ports always suck. No Man's Sky, Deus Ex, that Batman game....

Part of me is always tempted to upgrade my video card, but not sure I ever want to wade back into the world of having to tinker with games for hours to get them working....

If consoles were gone, there would be no ports.

As for the last part... It's not the late 90s anymore. It couldn't be any easier, there is no tinkering (unless you want there to be. Then there is.)

Oh, I'm not worried about the physical putting in a card...I've done that (i've built multiple pcs for work back in the day). I meant the time that whenever a new game drops I have to get new drivers for like 3 things, patches, tinkering with all the settings to try and get it to not suck....

Just a lot more hassle than it is for me to play a console game currently. I pay the price on Xbox One not getting perfect resolutions, but I find the ease of use is nice...Sometimes I only have an hour to game, so that hour would be burned setting up my PC to try and get a game to play nowadays.

Even before consoles were huge you'd have tons of driver issues...PC game tweaking has always existed.

That's what I'm talking about. There is none of that. I update my drivers maybe once every 3-4 months if that, and that's only for the graphics card which has GeForce experience to auto download them. That's never out of necessity either.

Same goes for game patches and everything.

Perhaps...then it's just dealing with games that are crap for a few weeks until they can fix the bugs. Just something that'd give me pause in investing my money that way....I don't really need a new graphics card otherwise.

Just seems to be a common thread among a lot of games lately. Maybe eventually PC ports will get better....

you can always check ratings website to see the input lag on your particular set in game mode vs no game mode

In my tv the non game mode is impossible to play. Even scrolling through the menu is horrible. Input lag in non game mode for my tv is like 120ms and in game mode 22 ms

I notice a difference in picture quality between game mode on or off . I rather just leave it off. Maybe when I get an actual 4K console I'll turn it on more .
yes he stated that you always want the source to produce the processing. The TV can do it as well because it can only display 4K resolution so if it gets 720p or 1080p it will upscale it to fit screen. He says this is noticed mostly on standard definition channels.

If the console can do the upscaling it will be best for the tv so it can just display the native resolution for the display.

I cannot play with game mode off. I rather not game at all is that bad

What's everyone's experience with the XB1S using beats? I'm using a Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter, and have used it with my XB1 without issue.

Playing M17 and using my Beats is not that enjoyable. I don't expect to be able to blast my ear drums, however the issue is, the sound come across extremely low, and almost mono tone for lack of better terms.

Anyhow, looking for ideas or a new setup that can bring it back to life.

I don't mind having to make a purchase of some sort, so if anyone has any recommendations....

EDIT: They're Beats studio wireless, btw

did you raise the volume on the settings within the xbox for the headset?

I use regular Samsung S7 edge phone ear buds and the sound is decent enough to game

Open the guide, and go to the settings but not into it, and when there's a headset attached the options are right there to the left.

yea when you press the home button hit the d pad to the left and it brings up the blade with your friends and diff features. Just scroll down to where the settings icon is on that blade and it will automatically show the volume and mute settings for the 3.5 jack

I was tinkering with my slim yesterday and noticed I needed to turn on UHD color on for everything to check off correctly on my tv. It's nice to see everything working properly now. The system is very nice and quiet. One issue I'm having is 4K content on YouTube wasn't in 4K but 1080p and it seems like it takes longer for the 4K to kick in while streaming. My homes spears are 50mbs. When I use the same apps on my tv they load 4K instantly, but the same apps on the Xbox don't work as fast and sometimes just remain in 1080. Hopefully this gets updated..

NBA2K is the standard of sports games period.

have not tried youtube on the slim but my friend said he did and it was amazing. I know that the Netflix 4K works instantly on the slim and looks better then the netflix app in 4K from my tv

Just wish they fixed the HDR kicking on when watching 4K for all content. It is annoying and needs to be fixed by MS
