Here is my 4k review...don't be an early adopter!

I got the Sony XBR-65X850B back in 2014 and paid a hefty price on it. It seemed like a good choice at the time, had a good picture, response time ratings were great.

Now enter HDR in 2016 - of course Sony only sent HDR firmware updates to their 2015 models. Now I have to look into getting a new set. And I feel like I am stuck keeping this one too. Based on prices now, if I sold it I would be taking like a $2k loss only two years after purchasing it

Friend told me about this site for 4KTV's - rtings.com

They rate, review and detail pretty much everything.

I used this site to buy my 4K Samsung earlier this year. Great info there.

Which model? I'm still debating if I should go with the 8000, 8500 or a different brand. I have a few weeks before making a decision since I want the TV in time for Gears of War 4.

The KS8000 and KS8500 are identical specs wise.

8000 is flat and 8500 is curved. Same TV's.

Crap...you're right. I keep doing that thinking that they're different TV's because of the model number and then eventually realize that one is curved and the other is flat.

Finally connected the Xbox One Slim and hooked it up as I'll update the console later on while im watching football so I can be ready for ReCore on Tuesday. Must say that the console is sweet and one of the best looking console's I have ever owned, if not the best. Love the look and compact size of it. And no power brick!!!

I don't have an Xbox but can you watch Netflix , watchESPN , or Hulu while playing the game like that ?

Bottom Line - Is the Slim worth getting? Is there noticeable upgrade in graphics, performance, etc? I use an external 1TB HD for most of my games, is it as easy as just plugging that HD into the Slim, and voila, everything works as normal?

I have a 4K tv.

It's as easy as that. Can't really comment on the rest until there are HDR games in the wild and if you have a set that can enjoy that option.

Just because your TV is 4k doesn't mean it can do HDR. Make sure your set can do HDR. Hopefully they release an xbox that can do 4k gaming soon, thats when I will bite.
