Seeing a $200 BF deal for just the headset got me close (I already own a PS4 camera and one move controller from PS3 days). But....not yet. I'd definitely play Skyrim and GT Sport on it, but I still need more to make it worthwhile (RE doesn't interest me).

Not like I'm lacking for games to play anyway.

Oh, I hear ya BC. Plenty of games to keep us busy for sure.

But don't look at vr as only a gaming device. It can be much more. It can educate you by putting you into this world. You can watch a video or film presentation in a 360 degree perspective. Watch a sporting event where your seat changes following the action. Imagine sitting 10 feet high next to basket watching NBA players battling it out below the rim. Or watch a baseball game from the home plate umpire's view.

We're in its infancy but progress is being made.

I upgraded recently to version 2 of the PSVR. Not sure I notice that much of a difference with the HDR. I will say I am happy to be rid of the remote control that was tied to a cable. It’s now implemented in to the headset.

The full itinerary for The Playstation Experience next weekend has been posted.

PS VR kicks off the Panel Lineup. It could be nothing but just rehashing recent releases of 2 popular games, Skyrim and Doom. It could be announcing a DLC to CODWW2 and SWBF2. It could be something else involving legendary people. Whatever it is, it does have me on notice. The LOU2 cast also has me intrigued.

Removed the auto-unsheathing when raising your shield hand when weapons are sheathed.

Theater Room VR gets PS Plus beta test

Sony is expanding its virtual-reality offerings with Theater Room VR for PlayStation VR on PS4.

The new PSVR app is about to be beta test by PS Plus subscribers in Japan, according to a new post on the Japanese PlayStation Blog.

The beta test begins on December 13 and Theater Room VR promises “deep immersion” and the app will be tested with the anime film Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale which is currently digitally-exclusive to PlayStation Video.

“Theater room VR” is an application that you can enjoy video content such as movies, animation, etc. in the large screen theater in virtual reality space. In the future, we aim to develop various services and contents through this application, we will conduct this beta test twice in total with the first period / second step and target period.

Just tried the free demo of The Last Guardian and can only now wish that Japan Studios remakes this game in VR. The fortress environment and experiencing Trico up close and personal made this one of the most amazing immersive experiences I've had with PSVR. There's no spoilers for those who may be getting the game, and if you have PSVR, you need to experience this.

The Inpatient Uses Voice Recognition For In-Game Dialog

For the dialog system every time a character spoke to me I’d have two potential responses appear in the air, floating next to their head. The one on the left represented a positive affirmation-type response, while the one on the right was always more negative, skeptical, or sarcastic.

For example, if a character asks what I’m doing in the asylum, options might say something like “I don’t remember,” or “I’m on vacation.” Clearly the first one is more genuine, whereas the second one is cracking a sarcastic joke. Instead of picking my choice with by pressing a button on a controller I had to literally speak it out loud. As in, using my actual real life mouth and voice.

It’s a relatively minor thing, but when combined with the immersive power of VR, it makes me never want to pick a dialog option in another VR game ever again. Games like Skyrim VR have silent protagonists, but countless VR titles like Arizona Sunshine feature voiced characters that can be jarring for the player to hear. If I’m led to believe that I’m embodying a character inside a VR game and then another voice comes out of my face, it breaks the immersion. The Inpatient circumvents that issue by asking you to speak the words instead.

What makes it even better is that other than a few times when I admittedly mumbled, it all worked great. Plus, the team told me they’d have support for several different languages at launch.

Are you using the aim controller? I liked the game despite some decision makings. It gets much better later on. Stop playing until you come to the conclusion of a new cinema play through. Game has a unforgiving save feature.

I'm not a huge FPS fan but VR puts this style of gameplay into a new perspective and I love it. Haven't heard any feedback regarding the latest update that included PvP mode. Going to test it out sometimes during the holidays and see for myself. I found the immersion of gun fire play created by Impulse Gear, along with the aim controller gun excellent.

Anyways I came here to see if it’s worth diving into this psvr thing now. I got Christmas tips burning a hole in my pocket and was thinking this or a switch. Leaning towards this since I don’t need the portability of switch and I already have half the games I’d buy on Wii U.

So what are the most have titles? I have a ps4pro. Is there a certain model headset I need to get? I heard they recently updated it. Any help is appreciated guys.
