Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
This has to be one of the worst system launches in the history of consoles. I can't remember some of the other launches, but it's hard to imagine a worse launch.
Launching with Zelda, but literally nothing else is ready including their online systems and a proper digital DRM implementation. It's like they don't even have a clue.
I have MLB the Show on March 28th.

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
I mean, that's fine, but people aren't typically okay with that. It's a lot of money to spend to play one game and then take a break from because the lineup is spread out so much. They're not saying we're giving you a shallow launch lineup so you can play with your other consoles. Although that wouldn't surprise me at this point if they did say that.Comment

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
Also, it seems that digital purchases will be locked to the Switch they are purchased on.
https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2017/02/switch-game-downloads-cant-be-shared-across-multiple-systems/Purchases can apparently only be on one system at a time.
If that translation is true, I get the whole 'lol, digital, buy physical' mantra some around here have... but it would apply to VC games too then in theory, which is probably one of the larger selling points of buying a Nintendo console.
No signing in to another console and playing your purchase there. Probably just speaks to the lack of sophistication of their online network.
The 'pre-reviews' popping up now aren't able to use much of the online service because 'the Switch’s online components, including account registration and retrieval, online play, wireless networking for protected hotspots and even the online store are not currently functional' - there will be a patch day one that will (hopefully) enable all of this without any additional surprises. This is absolutely horrible. Nintendo sucks big time. You should be able to buy a VC game once and own it forever, even if you move to different systems. I mean they release special versions of consoles all the time ("Zelda" colors, etc), so how do they expect the hardcore to buy them?
Not getting one anytime soon anyways, but this really hurts them IMO.Comment

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
While this setup doesn't allow you to play across multiple Switch systems with the same account logged in, if your Switch dies we should be able to redownload the games tied to our account. If this option was missing, I'd be even more pissed here in 2017. It can be a PITA to get Nintendo to transfer licenses over to begin with when on the phone. I think that this article and Mestevo's message is a little bit misleading since purchases are not locked down to a system anymore as they get locked down to your account that can only be used to 1 system at a time, unless I am missing something.
This is the other thing that pisses me off. If my Wii U dies I'm just SOL with all my VC purchases? It's absurd.Comment

Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
I'm still excited but I'd be lying saying this launch isn't looking worse and worse
No VC, No media, very limited amount of games, connection issues, battery life being 2 hours, Nintendo literally keeping specs a secret until a week before launch
It's basically a glorified Zelda player for 2 months. We can only pray it lives up to the hype until help arrives. If it doesn't this could collect dust for many after the new wears off
I honestly think it needed a few more months to get ready

If Mario Odyssey came out at launch I wouldn't get a switch.
Im a BIG supporter of Zelda,Fzero and Metroid. Those at launch would get me to buy their systems always...
I bought a PS4 and a Xbox so that I could play sports games on them if those sports games weren't at launch I wouldn't pick up a sony or Microsoft syste,
case in point. If scorpio say we have Forza 7. Guess what im down. every company needs to have that day one seller.
Nintendo has it with Zelda. For me at least....Brand New Tomba Slider sets ready for Next Gen Versions of NBA,Madden and Fifa Stay Tuned...Comment

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
Perfect Dark Zero
Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie
Kameo: Elements of Power
Condemned: Criminal Origins
Quake 4
To be fair, these were the Xbox 360 launch titles. Along with Madden 25 I believe. Perfect Dark was way worse than expected and Condemned was actually a really good game out of nowhere. But my point is Zelda is way better than any of those games. Launch lineups are never anything special.Comment

There were more than that. Madden 06, Live 06, NBA 2K6, NHL 2K6, College Hoops 2K6, and Gun.
Switch has 5 games. And Zelda is the only must own. Then Long dry spells.

Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
This is really not good. Not sure if this can be patched.
Edit- definitely a hardware issue. I'm out. This system needs to go back in the oven for 6 months.

Re: Nintendo Switch Announced, Scheduled to Release March 2017
I am kind of surprised that they didn't have a sports game available for launch just to tie us sports gamers in with the Zelda lovers
surprised they r still not popping up on ebay from people trying to profit off of an early release systemComment
